"Sorry!" Kamui called again, mostly to the man who had almost fallen overboard, "heh... first time driver... What a time I chose ta' steer, eh? If I can handle this, then I figure I'v--Crap!" He turned the wheel and the ship veered sharply, but just a tad too late. A bolt of lightning grazed the side of the ship, schorching the wood and searing a long, thin hole down the side of the ship. "...Whoops?"

Li'an was instantly beside Kamui, "Ta land, we can' be 'it again!" He shouted above the noise of thunder, one hand enclosing over Kamui's to drag them fiercely to the port-side. Yanking them out of the way of a huge wave, and toward the little sliver of land he could see in the distance. "We 'ave ta ma'e port!" He managed, realizing he was touching Kamui, and was really close to him. Right now, however, was not the time to think of such things.

"Take the wheel, Ms. Kaige!" Sezwick screamed as she ran from adjusting the mast to the pilothouse, the bow yawing from side to side in the glorious storm. She firmly grasped the wheel, veering sharply starboard then letting the wheel spin back again of its own will. "Ten fathoms deep on the road to hell," she sung slowly, though loudly. Her trick concluded she dashed back to the masts, supporting herself momentarly on the backstays, and she played Foremast Jack for a bit, making her way back to the wheel once more. "Yo ho hoooo and a bottle of ru-u-um." She screamed with a laugh that would have seemed maniacle from anyone else, but from Sezwick Kaige, it was spirited. By this time she would have been seen manning a meduim sized vessle quite on her own, coming through the storm, and laughing madly. "The devil himself will fear my waters tonight!"

Kamui's nose twitched as he stepped aside to grant Li'an better access to the wheel, but made no effort to pull his hand away. Sakurako, however, didn't seem to like him so close and backed away with a low growl. Yibbles scampered to get back under Sakurako and out of the rain. 'Pheromones... Awkward.' He grinned slightly. 'Too much rain. I can't sniff out the land in the distance, but...' "Li'an... Do ya' hear that?" He pointed, squinting into the distance. Even though visibility was obsucred by the sheets of rain and thrashing seas, the sillouette of another vessel could be seen in the distance, as well as the faint sound of crazed laughter.

Li'an had ignored Sakurako, his eyes sharp and on the horizon. "We ha'e ta make port! Dpn' le' tha' fiend near out ship! C'mon lads, wacth our backs!" He released Kamui's hand, twisting the wheel so that the ship was running with the current, pulling away from the ship directly in front of them in the distance. The land mass in front of them was growing faintly clearer. Li'an was absolutely /going/ to make it there in one piece...

Her hair whipped furiously in the rain and wind, and as she was about to scream some other mad celabratory phrase, she squinted her eyes and saw something large in the distance, approaching fairly quickly, much more quickly than her own vessle could have traveled, at any rate. All of these magical propultion systems these days, there's no telling how fast one of these sea faring monstosities could traverse. The rain spilled over her previously dashing hat, reducing the plumage to a wilted disgrace. She pushed the plume out of her eyes and screamed "Dead ahead, mates! We've got ourselves a rondezvous with adventure."

Tapping Li'an on the should with the back of his hand, "I'll leave the wheel ta' you an' see what I can do about where we got hit... Keep watchin' Yib, Sak." Kamui stepped away from the wheel, vaulting over the railing and landing on the deck. Practically sliding over the slick surface, he came to and hopped on to the side railing above where the lightning hit the ship's side, crouching very monkey like and wrapping his tail around the rail. His hair and long vest whipping about him in the wind, he closed his eyes and held out his hands, palms facing the horizon. Particles of bluish-white energy formed into a flat, rectangular barrier parallel with the water. He swung his hands down and the barrier swung with it, pressing against the ship's hull, sealing the hole, for the most part.

He was increasingly getting worried about the ship that was now coming directly at them. Who would want to rob a ship in a storm like this? Especially /his/ ship. He had a reputation after all, and he wouldn't let any storm, or another ship, get in his way. Looking out over his crew he frowned ever so slightly. The storm would inhibit their fighting, an attack here could cause all kinds of losses, for both of the ships. Why do pirates have to fight themselves? They already had enough trouble with squabbling at sea.
