No New Posts Cressa

The capital city and seat of the Avalan Government. It is a sprawling metropolis, easily the biggest and most well known city on the continent.
Located where the Great River meets the Segaland, it is straddled on both sides of the river and lays at the center of a major trade route. As such, is it very prosperous, flourishing, and home to a mixture of races and a blend of various cultures.
Its harbor is famous and lined with sea vessels of all kinds, including the formidable warships of the powerful Avalan Navy and large merchant vessels, along with a number of private ones... maybe even a pirate ship or two.

No New Posts Vun Keep (Vun Mountain)

An ancient and natural fortress, fortified by the mountain which it is carved into.
Located in Avalas' southernmost region, near the Avalan-Märmosian border, it is famous for holding off Mämosian forces several times throughout the two kingdoms' turbulent histories.
The mountain itself is actually a dormant volcano (and kept that way by magical means). Deep under the Keep is Vun Forge. Heated by the volcano itself, the master smiths who work the forge produce some of the highest quality blades and armor Avalas has to offer.

No New Posts Aorin Forest

A boreal forest in Avalas' northern regions, located between the Two Rivers that join to form the Great River. The Twin mountains are to the south and the Niflheimr Sea to the north.
The forest is home to many wondrous creatures, some of which are highly dangerous (one enters at their own risk. Despite the dangers, many naturalists travel here for a chance to study the area's wildlife. It is also popular among Rangers and Druids.
However, the Aorin Forest is most famous for A.R.U.M.S., which is located on the forest's eastern fringe near the easternmost of the Two Rivers.
Parts of the forest, more specifically the area around the school, are blocked off to the general public by magical means. These areas are used by the school as testing areas and training grounds.

No New Posts → A.R.U.M.S. (Avalan Royal University of Magic and Swordsmanship)

A prestigious university founded hundreds of years ago by Sylvanus II, an early King of Avalas.
Don't let its name fool you, for all students are not only instructed in the art of war or magic, but also in the academics and the arts. It is one of the Four Great Schools of Syrunn.
Avalan royalty and nobility attend the school, along with those who come from families rich enough to pay tuition, which is rather steep indeed, but well worth it to those who can afford it:
Those who have gone on to become Kings and Queens, Lords and Ladies, brave and noble Knights, or wise and powerful Mages... the school has taught them all throughout its long history.
The school accepts students no younger then 15 and no older then 21, but they must pass an intense physical and/or magical aptitude test, in addition to a written test on various academic subjects.
A note on the area of the Aorin Forest the school has blocked off. It is further divided into five smaller sections. Through magical means, the terrain and climate of any or all of the sections can, and often is, altered to suit the needs of a particular test or training exercise.

No New Posts Great River

In north Avalas the Two Rivers, small rivers originating from the Niflheimr Sea, join in a valley between the Twin Mountains, forming the Great River.
The river runs in a southwestern direction for a great distance before eventually emptying into the Segalend Sea. It has many tributaries, making this large area very fertile. there are a great many farming villages here, along with a number of larger towns and cities along the main river.
deep and broad, there are a number of merchant and private vessels conducting trade and business up and down the river and in the Segalend.

No New Posts → Valley Town

An ordinary, but pleasant, town whose inhabitants raise livestock and farm the surrounding valley.
It is noteworthy because almost all who are coming or going from A.R.U.M.S. must pass through here. Every year celebrations are held here for the school's graduating students before they depart for wherever they are expected after graduation.
Also, its farms provide the vast majority of food for A.R.U.M.S.

No New Posts Win Dain Island

"Win Dain Island" is not the island's true name, it is just called so by outsiders because of the Win Dain Forest that encompasses the entire island. The forest itself is massive, the largest in all of Syrunn. It is green and lush, but often blanketed in mist, holding an air of mystery to outsiders.
Separated from the rest of Avalas by the broad channels that connect the Segalend Sea to the Aquios Ocean, the island is a sovereign state inhabited by Elves, who have built entire cities without even altering the natural landscape of their forest.
The forest is also home to a population of Otherfolk (Sylphs, Dryads, Fauns, Brownies, Pixies, Faeries, etc.) and their Fey Queen, who live in harmony with the Elves.

Avalas is an entire kingdom, after all, so use your imagination and come up with your own areas, if you so desire.
