Mount Midorisaru
Located far south, this mountain is called "Midorisaru-san" by the Hagakarinese, which is "Mount Green Monkey" in Common. It is so named for the lush subtropical forest, the shape of which bears an uncanny resemblance to a monkey, that blankets the mountainside. The forest, Saru Forest, so named for its high population of monkeys and apes, encircles the base of the mountain as well as the mountainside. There are a number of farming villages in the region, and most of the inhabitants believe a great and sacred monkey spirit guards the forest and all the monkeys and apes that live in it.
