Grand Mountain Range

A massive range of mountains, the longest in all of Syrunn. Located solely in Märmosia, the mountain range covers nearly three-fourths of the kingdom.
As a single chain, it begins in Märmosia's northern regions, directly south of the Kleine Desert Running south to the Oriens Ocean, then southwest, parallel to the coast, until it is stopped by the Aquios Ocean. Along the way, it breaks of into numerous smaller chains of mountains, the most notable of which is the Fweir Mountain Range, an autonomous region that extends into the Basque Plains, almost cutting it in two.
The climates vary dramatically, with the hot and dry mountains near the Namian desert, the forest covered mountains in Märmosia's central region, and the rocky snow covered peaks farther south, around Ulbrecht.
As a whole, the Grand is rich in minerals, containing ores of most economically valuable metals such as iron, copper, and tin, not to mention gold and silver. There are also rich deposits of valuable gems as well, some of the largest in Syrunn, including emeralds, blood rubies, sapphires, and even diamonds. Not to mention its forests are a valuable source of timber.
There are a number of mining and logging communities at the base numerous mountains within the range.
