Located south of Idaitokai, it is called "Kinryû-yama" by the Hagakarinese, meaning "Golden Dragon Mountain" in Common.
It is a dormant volcano, believed to be the home of a mighty dragon, and held sacred by most of the Hagakarinese people, many of whom make a pilgrimage to the shrine at its peak.
Near the base of the mountain are a chain of hot springs, around which a number of resort towns have sprung up.

Located far south, this mountain is called "Midorisaru-san" by the Hagakarinese, which is "Mount Green Monkey" in Common.
It is so named for the lush subtropical forest, the shape of which bears an uncanny resemblance to a monkey, that blankets the mountainside. The forest, Saru Forest, so named for its high population of monkeys and apes, encircles the base of the mountain as well as the mountainside.
There are a number of farming villages in the region, and most of the inhabitants believe a great and sacred monkey spirit guards the forest and all the monkeys and apes that live in it.

Meaning "Secret Place" in Common, they are a handful of hidden villages scattered across Hagakarin.
Through rumor and legends the people know of these villages' existence, but few people outside of those born there and select high-ranking Hagakarinese government and military officials know the villages' actual locations.
In these secret places, the inhabitants train in the mysterious and deadly ninja arts.
The ninja, also called shinobi, from the Himitsunobasho villages are an elite branch of the Hagakarin military, acting as master spies, saboteurs, scouts, assassins, counter-terrorists, or bodyguards.
Although some of the more powerful ninja clans pursue their own agendas in tandem with their duties as a branch of the Hagakarinese military.

Very low, but still higher then the surrounding area, the flat and level Kyogure Plateau extends a number of miles in each direction, forming an almost perfect circle. It is located in Hagakarin's northern regions, near the Hagakarin - Ri Yanese border.
According to legend, it was once a mountain, but many thousands of years ago a wandering giant cut it down to test his magical sword.
About half of the plateau is covered in forest, the Yami Forest. The other half, Kusahara Plain is made up of a series meadows and grassland.

Covering the eastern half of the Kyogure Plateau, it is a lush and flat series of meadows and grasslands, with many brooks, streams, and springs. Many kinds of rare and beautiful flowers and plants grow here, including many that can be used in medicines.

Located on the western half of the Kyogure Plateau, this forest is vast and very dense, so much so that the trees block out almost all sunlight, making it very dark within the forest. It is also home to many fearsome creatures, both magical and mundane. Including the tengu, powerful spirits with both human and avian characteristics, who are said to watch over the forest.
