Across the corridor? She could cope with that sort of separation, or she was pretty sure that it was manageable anyway. In theory. In reality, Rory wasn’t really sure that she could manage being away from Phoenix for longer than a couple of minutes. Spending all night away from him? It felt like a very long time. She tried not to linger on the thought for too long as they walked, glancing up at him as they paused, looking between the open door to his room and the closed one at the other side of the corridor which obviously lead to her room. It felt almost strange having a bedroom all of her own, in Phoenix’s house. This whole night was starting to feel like a pleasant dream, and she was beginning to worry that she would wake up and be somewhere far less comfortable.
Luckily for Rory, it seemed that Phoenix knew just how to put fears like that to rest. His lips felt far too real to be part of some delusion. She reached up to wrap her arms around his neck, turning to face him properly as they kissed, smiling lightly against his lips. He still gave her butterflies, and made her heart pound. Kissing Phoenix could never lose its magic.
Her cheeks were dusted with pink when she gently drew back, looking pretty reluctant to move from where she was right now. “Goodnight, Phoenix.” She murmured, sighing lightly. If they didn’t move now they would be stood out in the corridor all night. “Sweet dreams. I’ll see you in the morning.” She leant up to place a light kiss on his lips as a final goodnight before stepping back out of his arms, turning to head into her bedroom. She paused in the doorway, of course, to smile over her shoulder to him, before finally disappearing and clicking the door closed behind her.
Kevay flashed Lexie one of his best smiles as she agreed to go to bed with him (in the most literal of senses, but he could deal with that). “You’re the best, Lexie.” He grinned, leaning over to kiss her cheek before bouncing off ahead of her down the corridor. He paused for a moment as they passed the turn down to where Phoenix’s room was, smiling to himself rather happily as he watched the Knight and his Princess kissing in the corridor. It was all just too cute for words.
“Chaste?” He laughed at that comment, continuing on his way to his room. “Why, of course. What kind of a scoundrel do you take me for, Lexie?” He questioned, opening his bedroom door, bowing with a flourish as he held it open for her, as though to prove that he had manners when he wanted to. “M’Lady, the pleasure of your company alone is enough to get me through the night.”
