"Kamoo," the little girl chose. "I'm Alexia Tannon. We're going to Tris," she replied matter-of-factly, not realizing that she had mispronounced Tyris. She had only heard the name a few times. "Yibbles is cute. I wish Elle would have let me bring my kitty. I tried to sneak her into my suitcase, but Elle caught me and said she'd throw Ysabel overboard if I brought her." She snuggled Yibbles.
As Enelya stepped down the stairs, she removed the water-repelling spells and cast an illusion spell so that she appeared to be Elven, not Drow. She went down, smiling politely at everyone but secretly wishing them dead. She grabbed a rough sack and started shoving fruits, salty meats, and a few vegetables into it. Finally, she tied it close, and poured two bowls of hot cheese soup. Then she left, repelling the water again with magic and allowing her Drow form to resurface.

Kamui smiled a bit when Alexia chose to call him 'Kamoo', thinking fondly of a girl from his past. Though, he supposed, she would probably be an old woman by now, no longer the sweet and innocent girl he remembered. "Tyris, eh? That's certainly far away. Why are ya' goin'?" He inquired innocently.

"I don't know," the girl admitted. She smiled up at Kamui. "I wish you were taking me. Elle is mean and boring. And you would have let me bring Ysabel. She would have liked Yibbles." Alexia looked at the piglet fondly. "Elle doesn't like anybody."
"Least of all little girls who talk about me when I am not present," Enelya said, stepping down. Alexia stared at the floor guiltily and accepted the soup Enelya offered her without saying thanks, which was quite uncharacteristic of the little girl. Enelya then shifted the sack and offered Kamui the other bowl of soup. Alexia took a sip of hers and spit it out on the floor, making sure to avoid the piglet in her lap.
"Elle," she said. Enelya rolled her eyes and looked at the girl. "I can't have cheese. Or milk. It makes me sick." Alexia was lactose-intolerant. Enelya took the soup with an exasperated sigh and offered them both to Kamui.
"I hope you're hungry," she said. This made it obvious that she had never met Kamui before.

"Ah, well. What if I were ta' tell ya' that I was goin' ta' Tyris as well? Ya' think Elle would let me tag along with ya' guys? Hm...?" He turned his head, his nose twitching, his head in Elle's direction as she came bearing food. A wide grin split lit up his face as he accepted the bowl of soup, which promptly vanished into the infinite void that was his stomach. "Hm? No cheese or milk...? That's... that's just... a tragedy...," Kamui shook his head, seemingly lamenting the fact Alexia couldn't ingest dairy products, even as he reflexively drained the second bowl of soup without conscious thought. "So... about the contents of the sack... Yib would love either a piece of fruit or vegetable, Sak some of the meat..."

Enelya turned up the corners of her mouth, but it was not a smile. It was more of a glare. She reached into the rough sack and produced a fat slab of beef, holding it out to Kamui. Then she reached in and grabbed an apple, giving it to the girl, who, in turn, gave it to Yibbles. Enelya sat the sack down.
"It's full of food, dig in," she said. She stepped over the girl and into their room, slumping down on the bed. That way, she could see the girl and still relax.
"I'll ask Elly if you can come with," the girl whispered. She took a pear from the bag and took a ruthless bite out of it as she went into the room. "Elle, can Kamoo come with us?"
"Who?" Elle inquired, though she feared she already knew.
"Kamoo," the girl repeated as if everyone knew instinctively who Kamoo was. "The nice man with the piggy." Elle glared at her. The girl normally would have crawled off, rejected, but she stood there firmly now, staring back at Enelya persistently. She didn't want this "Kamoo" interfering with business, especially since she was unsure whether it was legal or not, least of all because he seemed to like playing the hero. But maybe he'd make this babysitting business easier. She considered it for a moment, pursing her lips. Cute kid, she thought, noting the girl's defiant expression.
"Fine, but just for a little way," she finally said.
"Yay!" the girl exclaimed, rushing back out to Kamui. "Kamoo! Did you hear? Did you? You can come!" She picked up the piglet. "You too, Yibbles!" In her excitement, she tucked the pig under one arm and put the other around Kamui, forming some sort of group hug. "Come in, come in. It gets wet outside." She walked into the room, waiting expectantly for Kamui and his beautiful wolf to follow.

Yibbles looked delighted with the apple, munching away happily, oblivious to all but the fruit. "G'rftte," Kamui said cheerily, which created an odd contrast given that he was speaking Undercommon, as he took the meat from Enelya. With a quick flash of his fangs, he rather wolfishly tore off a small chunk of the slab and gulped it down before passing the larger portion to Sakurako, who devoured it just as fat as Kamui. "Ah, that should do for a light snack...," He said, contentedly patting his belly while listening to Alexia and Enelya through the open doorway. "Hm?" He looked at the girl as she rushed out to him and smiled. "Yes, I did hear her." 'Heh... Well, this could be interestin'...,' He thought to himself as Alexia lead him into the room with Enelya. "Say, what kind of games do ya' like ta' play, Alexia?"

"I like playing swords," Alexia chirped. "And marbles. But we can't play marbles with the ship rocking." Alexia suddenly had an idea. "Enelya, can you make the boat stop rocking?" Enelya had lied down. She rolled her eyes, though they were invisible under her eyelids.
"No," she said shortly. It sounded as if she wouldn't have told Alexia if she could. Alexia sighed. Enelya knew Alexia had no sword to play swords with, only marbles, so she decided to end the girl's boredom, and her torment, before it started. "I can keep the marbles in place, though. But I'm not staying up all night just so you can roll glass balls across the floor." Alexia nodded with a grin, satisfied.
"Do you want to play marbles, Kamoo?" she asked, delighted. Enelya wanted the trip to be over more than ever.

"Of course I'll play with ya', but you'll hafta explain the rules, it's been ages since I played marbles." As he spoke he removed his rain soaked hat and cloak, revealing a head of spiky, mess orange hair, his long orange vest and the ratty rutsack slung over his shoulder, and his furry, prehensile tail. He let his rutsack slide to the floor, sitting down himself, waiting for her to go get her marbles. Though he did not remove his sheathed sword form this belt nor his clothed and bounded scythe from his back. Both weapons gave off an unnatural chill, undetectable to most humans, unless they tried to touch either one. "So, ya' playin' swords, huh? I used ta' play swords all the time with a friend of mine when we were your age. Well, I'd always use a sword... or rather, a bokutô, back in those days. Well, anywho, my friend, she'd always use a jô, a staff weapon." He laughed, "Ah, man, was she good with it. She'd always beat me. Not once did I win when we sparred. Ha ha! She must be a jōjutsu master by now. No, grandma Heh..." He looked nostalgic, maybe even a bit sad. Shaking it off quickly, he smiled. "Have ya' seen a girl like that, Alexia? Her name was Hikaru, she has a furry tail like me. We, uh... kinda got separated one day and I don't know where she went..."

Alexia shook her head. "No, I haven't," she answered, looking sympathetic. She was too young to know exactly what she was sympathetic about, but had that innate sense of emotion and kindness like only children do. She had forgotten about her marbles. "Was she your wife? Can I grow a fuzzy tail, too?"
Enelya didn't know how lucky she was. She was human. No one held any prejudice against her. Of course, Enelya wouldn't have it any other way. Or would she? It was a riddle that even she couldn't solve. She couldn't tell which was the lie she'd been telling herself all her life and which was the deep truth, probably because she wasn't that in touch with her feelings. Doing bad things for bad people to make a living had that effect on you.

"Wha...!? Wife? I, u-uh, um-um... uh...," Kamui sputtered, shifting awkwardly, "...No! No, not my wife! Just... um... a really good friend..." He chuckled nervously, rubbing the back of is head, "Um, I don't think ya' can grow a tail, at least not naturally. I'm sure there's some spell or another... You see, we were born with our tails. Our parents. Well, my mom did. My father was a human like you... So, um... how 'bout those marbles?"

"Elly, will you..." Alexia started, but Enelya was ready for her.
"No, I won't give you tail," she spat. "I couldn't give you a real one, anyway. Just an imitation." Alexia sighed, disappointed. "Just play marbles." Her face was bright again. Rainstorms never hovered long over children's faces. She grabbed a sack of marbles and sat them in front of her.
"There's lots of ways to play," she explained, feeling important that a grown-up was asking information of her. Especially a nice grown-up with a tail and pets. "But I can only 'member one. We each have ten marbles and I draw a circle on the floor. Elly, will..." Enelya, again, was ready for her. She waved her hand and a white circle appeared on the wooden floor. "Bigger?" Enelya frowned, but enlarged it. "Okay, I put a big marble in the middle. We take turns shooting our marbles at the big one and the first person to knock it all the way out of the circle wins." Alexia was counting marbles out of her bag as she spoke. She pulled a black marble, bigger than the others and only slightly transparent, and put it in the middle of the circle. It stuck automatically so that it wouldn't roll with the tiltings of the boat. "What colors do you like? I got reds, blues, yellows, oranges, greens, purples, pinks, whites, and grays. I have a rainbow one, but I can't play with it or I'll lose it." She had pulled it out and was looking at it as she waited for Kamui's answer. It was glass with a rainbow twirl in the middle that was constantly writhing and twisting, no doubt the effect of a spell.

Kamui laughed at the small exchange between Alexia and Enelya. He turned his attention to Alexia, listening intently to her explanation, if for no other reason then to giver her the satisfaction she seemed to get from explaining the game to him. He also seemed amused by Enelya's spells. "Okay, I see...," He nodded sagely. He grinned and pointed to his hair, "I like orange. Hey, that's a pretty spiffy marble ya' got there... Could I see it for a minute? I promise I'll be real careful with it."

"Sure," Alexia said, holding the marble out to him. After giving it to him, she began to count out orange marbles. They all had different bits in the middle. Most were just slightly transparent orange marbles, but some were cats'-eyes, some even had more intricate designs. One looked as if there was an orange star trapped inside. "Orange is pretty."

"Yes, I think it's pretty, too," He said while holding the swirling rainbow marble close for inspection. "Alexia, I'm gonna show ya' a little trick. Lemme know if ya' thinks that's pretty, too." He held up the marble, balancing it perfectly on the tip of his index finger. From his finger tip he let loose a tiny amount of Ki. Once the normally bluish-white energy entered the marble, streaks of soft light swirled out from it, glowing with all the same colors as the rainbow in the marble.

Alexia gasped, lying all the marbles in her lap and leaning forward with her mouth agape. "That's beautiful, Kamoo!" she exclaimed. "I wish I could do magic." Her bottom lip pouted out as she sorely regretted being human. She wished that she could grow a tail and do pretty tricks, too.
Enelya curiously half-opened an eye, watching for a brief moment, before closing it again.
