Finally, they were on their way out to the open seas again. The port was slowly fading away into the distance to be replaced by miles upon miles of glittering ocean. She felt herself lighten little by little as civilsation disappeared, and it would even be fair to say that a hint of a smile was touching to her features. Nicu was just never at ease until she could feel the ship rocking beneath her feet. Unloading and loading at the harbour was her least favourite part of her life at sea, Nicu generally tending to stay aboard the ship while the other crew members wandered off to enjoy their time at port and the captain bargined prices for his wares. Then again, her previous memories of harbours were always drenched in blood, from a very ealy age, so it was logical that she felt ever so slightly...apprehensive around dry ground. In truth, she preferred being alone on the ship, at least there the world was governed by rules she understood, and she generally avoided keeping the company of any of the other crew members even when they were aboard. She didn't need other people anyway, she knew that she could rely on herself so there was no need to make that effort of trust others.
That could explain why she was alone right now, currently leaning against the railings at the back of the ship, enjoying the strong breeze as it ruffled up her unruly hair. The main effort of pulling away from the harbour was done with now, the wind and calm seas making for easy sailing. The crew was taking this chance to relax and get used to being back out at sea, many nursing hangovers and black eyes. The rowdy taverns that lined the harbours had never really been her cup of tea, she always ended up in a brawl over nothing. Nicu and alcohol didn't really mix very well, it made her temper flare and...well, that was bad for everyone around her. Plus, she was never very good at dealing with the pounding headache that followed the morning after. No, she was better at being sober.
One of her hands was set on the railing, fingers spread out over the dark wood, not even watching as the tip of her short dagger danced between her fingers, comforted by the steady tap-tap-tap of the blade against the wood. That was one of the annoying little habits that she had picked up from the saliors, something to keep her hands busy and prove her skill with a blade when there wasn't very much to do. Plus, most of the crew knew that it was dangerous to go near her when she had a dagger in her hand, which was a bonus. They knew not to bother her, most of them out of experience, which helped with her prefenence of being alone. Nicu was someone that you simply didn't want to get on the wrong side of and it was practically impossible to get on the right side of.
She let her eyes fall closed to listen to the sounds of the crew behind her, as if listening to pick of certain conversations. From what she had heard they had taken someone on board for the ride, though who she had no idea. Not that she cared. As long as they kept from under her feet and kept their heads down then she didn't mind. It was when they tried to 'help' that annoyed her. She didn't suffer fools lightly, and the traveler on the ship would do well to learn that pretty quickly.

She was stood towards the back end of the ship, eyes lingering on the port which was slowly growing smaller before her eyes, her excited gaze flitting up now to watch the sea-birds circle around the ship for a while. A small smile tugged at the corners of her mouth, her white cloak thrown back from her shoulders to billow with the strong wind. Ah, she was finally here, she had finally done it. It had taken more time than she would have liked to even get out of Cressa, let alone to a port with ships large enough to be willing to give her passage. But it had finally happened, and she was here at last. Nudge had been wandering Avalas for far too long, she thought, it was time she turned her attention to those huge monuments she had heard of in the neighbouring continents, to the supposed healing masters of the world. And as if she even thought about the danger of being alone on the high seas; the world was her oyster now, she had managed to travel once, she was certain she could find passage again.
"Ahhh, I love the sea air." she sighed to herself, taking a deep breath and letting it out again. "Buh bye Avalas! See you again one day!" she waved in a wide arch, before finally turning away from the view of the port to look at the ship. It was a fine day, and the sea was calm as far as she had been able to tell. It was lucky she'd managed to find those sailors after all, even if they had looked kind of scary at first (though she figured that all sailors did, really). She'd had no idea they would be willing to take her aboard, or take what little money she had - Nudge may not be the brightest crayon in the box when it came to good ol' common sense, but she wasn't stupid either, she knew the value of money. She was just thankful to be here right now.
The light thud of her wooden rod accompanied her light, carefree footsteps as she began to trek up one side of the ship, her gaze now directed down to the waves a very long way below. Uuuuuugh, she didn't think she liked that very much. She could just imagine someone as tiny as herself being swept from the ship by a gust of wind and blown into the water. Oh, maybe she didn't want to stay so close to the railing after all, moving slightly away from the side as she shook her head, as if confirming this to herself. She let out a small squeak as her hair was thrown rather suddenly into her eyes by the wind, moving to sweep it out of her eyes rather hurriedly... though she wasn't really watching where she was going, managing to walk headlong into Nicu by pure dumb luck.
"Ah!" she yelped as she stumbled back from her, ending up on her backside on the deck, her rod the only thing stopping her from going sliding back down the ship. "Oh, I'm so sorry, sir...!" she looked up at Nicu, instantly thinking her a man from her attire... and the fact that she was playing with a knife. But then that was ordinary sailors' behaviour wasn't it? Nudge thought so; she had seen a few sailors on her journey around the port, most of them brawny with several tattoos and a liking for ale, but nevertheless rather rough around the edges. And although Nicu was much scrawnier than most of the sailors she'd seen, and looked rather feminine for a man... she had to be, right?

Lucikly for Nudge, Nicu had heard her coming and turned to look over her shoulder to watch her. Her expression was rather humerous really, watching Nudge as if she had some awful, contagious disease as she wandered across the deck. There was a child on board. Oh, this had to be a joke. The captain just couldn't be serious. He expected them to babysit some little lost child while they were sailing pirate infested waters? He must have been drunk when he agreed to this. There was no other explination for it. It wasn't just that she was a child, but she was a girl, an adolescent girl on a ship full of sex starved sailors who's morals were none existant. She reluctantly decided that she would have to keep an eye on the kid, and threaten the crew that they would lose some rather important organs if they dared to even look at her in the wrong way. Ugh, women were generally banned from boats for a reason, they distracted the crew. She doubted that they would pay much attention to her yet, but as they spent longer and longer at sea she was certain that she would end up seeming much less like a child to them.
And she was...talking to herself. This just got better and better, didn't it? The girl was so naive, and she was practicaly infected with happiness. Bleh. She shook her head as she turned her gaze back out over the ocean, slipping the dagger back into her belt. She cracked her knuckles as she sighed, shaking her hair back from her face as she rubbed at her blind eye, another of her little habits, tracing the scar with her fingertips for a moment before letting her hand move back to the railing. The girl better be getting off at the next port in a few days, she could do without having to watch out for her as well as making sure that the crew were working.
She automatically caught Nudge by the scruff of the neck as she bumped into her, as if to stop her falling over, dragging her back to her feet before turning to scowl at her rather threateningly. "Watch where ya goin' kid. I ain't jumpin' in after ya if you fall overboard." She told her bluntly, an icy undertone to her voice. 'Sir'? That was pretty amusing. Nicu was used to everyone thinking that she was male now, especially seeing as it was intentional, solving all the problems that Nudge would face on the ship. However, being addressed so formaly made her smirk a little and shake her head. "Ya ain't gonna last long 'ere if ya can't watch where ya goin'." She grumbled to her under her breath, folding her arms over her chest as she peered down at the child, quirking an eyebrow at her.

Of course it hadn't even occured to Nudge just what the sailors' intentions might have been, and even if it had she probably wouldn't have given it much thought. She didn't believe people would really do something like that, the sailors had seemed like rather nice people once she had gotten past the stench of ale and their rough, booming laughter that could erupt at any moment, from just the slightest thing... hm, Nicu was probably right, they probably had been drunk when they'd agreed to give her passage. Not that Nudge minded; it had gotten her onto the ship hadn't it? She was on her way to something new, even wandering around the ship for a week or two with burly sailors had to be worth that.
She seemed rather surprised as she was just... stood back on her feet, blinking rather adorably as she wondered what had happened to falling to the ground and bumping her head and getting a headache and all the things she usually did on a regular basis. "I don't want to fall overboard anyway... the water looks... not warm." she shuddered as she casted a gaze over the railings, even though her shoulder barely reached them. Nudge wasn't a child, she was just... small for her age. Really small. That was generally why she didn't resent people for thinking her to be one, she was almost certain she'd grow a couple of inches in the next year or two, she just had to will it to happen!
"I'll try to watch out next time, I promise." she nodded up at Nicu, smiling a little. "The wind is so strong here, I think maybe I was just caught off guard." she murmured, pushing a lock of crimson hair from her face and fixing her cloak so it billowed out behind her again, the little healer setting her wooden rod onto the deck again as if to keep her balance. "I'm Nudge, by the way." she told Nicu brightly, "I'm on my way to Ri Yan. Do you know how long that will take, please?" she asked, taking a moment to look around the deck as the breeze lifted the tips of her hair. Nothing could dampen her mood at the moment, she was actually on a ship!

That was where Nudge and Nicu differed. Nicu had seen at a very young age that people weren't nice at all, and that most people wouldn't even hesitate before doing something awful, whereas Nudge didn't seem to have been exposed to anything like that. She didn't know how she hadn't seen that evil in people though, the girl seemed to be a traveller, and she was quite ovbiously traveling alone, so how had she come so far without getting herself into any sticky situations? She didn't imagine that Nudge could fight, so how on earth did she look after herself? Flutter her eyelashes at people and ask them to be nice? Psht, she must just have been lucky, in the right places at the right time, but she found herself wondering if the kid knew that her luck wouldn't last forever? She might be a cold hearted murderer, but she didn't want to think that the girl would get hurt. Maybe she would teach her a few tricks so she could look after herself.
Nicu found her gaze moving to the waves that lapped against the ship for a moment at Nudge's comment. Cold? She was worried about falling over the edge because the water was cold. Well, that was the first time that she had heard that. Generally people were scared of falling overboard incase they drown, not because it were cold. "Um...yeah...I guess that it is not warm..." She nodded slowly, her gaze drifting back to look at her, the look in her eyes almost asking if she were serious. Maybe she would have to watch her a little more closely than she had first thought, she could just see this girl walking into trouble and not even noticing.
"Good." She nodded again as she said that she would be more careful. Hmm, she imagined that the wind might be a little hard to deal with when you were only little. "Ya'll get used to it after a few days." She told her as she leant back against the railings, seeming unconcerned with the risk of flaling over the edge. Nicu had been working on ships for almost as long as she could remember, it would have been the first time she fell over board if it happened. "Nicu." She introduced herself with a curt nod before looking up at the far horizon. "Ri Yan? That'll take a good couple 'o weeks, dependin' on the wind." She scowled. Oh, so they were stuck with the girl for a little longer than she had expected. Great.

Nudge smiled and nodded at Nicu's reply, turning to lean against the railing and look out at the sea, a rather excitable glitter in her eyes. "It's nice to meet you, Nicu. And I don't mind if it takes a while, you don't really get to appreciate getting to the destination if you don't experience the journey, right?" she murmured, her fingers drumming along the dark wood, the silver thumb ring she wore gleaming in the bright sunlight. Lucky? Perhaps she had been, she didn't know. She'd met a few people you would count as being 'rough' or 'unruly' in her travels, but in general when people realised you were a healer suddenly they'd prefer your help than your money or life.
And to be honest, Nudge kind of thought people felt too sorry for her to bother trying to mug her or take advantage of her. Being so small and travelling by yourself gave you a lot of pity when it came to the nicest of people, and she almost suspected thieves and murderers and the like would look at her and think her not worth their time. What kind of a child carried anything valuable on their person anyway? The only other people she'd have to worry about were the ones with dishonourable intentions, and Nudge had been lucky enough so far to avoid anything like that. True, she may be clumsy, ditzy and give off an innocent, child-like vibe, but she knew what the world was like. She just chose to believe that the people in it didn't have to be the same way.
So why worry about what could happen when you could just be happy about what hadn't happened so far? The girl looked back over her shoulder at Nicu, tilting her head a little. "Why are you out here all by yourself? No offence, but I never thought sailors were all that introverted. Maybe I'm wrong, who knows?" she smiled a little. It was odd that he was out here alone, maybe he didn't have anything to do? But... then... this was a ship, wasn't there always stuff to do? Ohh, being on a ship was so much different from reading about them.

"It's nice to meet you, Nicu." This kid was just a laugh a minute, wasn't she? She was actually making Nicu smirk a little, thatdidn't really happen very often. "Hmmm, suppose so. Prefer the journey myself, even without a destination." She told her as she turned her attention to the sky, watching the birds glide on the wind above them. It was true, Nicu would must rather spend her whole life traveling and never really getting anywhere rather than getting somewhere and that being it. Life was an adventure and all that shit. She had always felt too closed in living in a city, and she was always restless in the winter when most of the ships docked and waited for the worst of the weather to pass. She felt caged staying in one place for too long, and being on land gave her far too much time to think...which was why she passed the winter in a drunken coma.
Nicu had been taught to survive in a totaly different way. She had been taught how to protect herself, taught how to use weapons and a trade so that she would never be out of work. Nicu's world was only small though, limited to the ship, and when she was at port she was always tense and unsettled, wanting to get back out to sea as soon as possible. Too many things could happen at port, there were too many people around, it was all just too out of control. At least out here the only thing that she couldn't control was the ocean, and that was what made sailing exciting.
She blinked as she realised that Nudge was talking to her again, turning her gaze back down to the girl. "Just don't like their company is all. Prefer being on my own." She told her truthfully, rubbing at her scar. It was surprising that she had endured Nudge's company for so long without walking away from her or insulting her. "Easier like this. Lemme ask you a question, what are ya doin' over here with me?"

"Easier...?" Nudge murmured softly, more to herself than Nicu. What an... odd choice of words, she thought to herself, red-gold brows knotting into a faint, puzzled scowl as she casted her gaze back over the side of the railing. Why would Nicu find it easier to separate himself from his shipmates rather than spend his time with them instead? They must have all been on the ship together before, for weeks, maybe even months. Who would prefer to be alone for all that time than to accept the idea that the crew was the only company around? But then, Nudge didn't know Nicu well, he probably had a very good reason why he didn't like to socialise with the others. Nevermind.
She smiled brightly at Nicu's question, pushing her mane of hair out of her face before shrugging. "Aside from rudely bumping into you (sorry again), I guess I don't know why I'm over here with you. I think it might be because you're the only person here right now who doesn't look hungover and grumpy... well, maybe you do look a little bit grumpy." she gave a nervous giggle, rubbing the back of her head. Nicu was a completely different type of person than she was used to; travellers on land generally were just happy for the company, you were much less likely to be mugged if there were more of you. And then there was the undeniable fact that Nudge was a healer, an asset even at the worst of times.
Perhaps she was just used to she cheerful nature of villagers, and even the hustle and bustle of the cities. Being on the sea was different - it was raw, the people lived by a different set of rules, lived a different way of life. Oh, dear maybe this would take a little getting used to. "I can leave you alone if you'd like me to." she suggested.

"Yeah, easier." Nicu confirmed with a nod, her gaze having moved back out to the ocean now. They have traveled far in the last few minutes, the port now nothing more than a smudge on the horizon. "Not as if ya can trust people, ya know?" She mumbled to the girl, drumming her fingertips against the railing for a second, her gaze darkening a little. What was the point in relying on people when they made you need them and then went and died on you? What was the point in trust when you knew that there was a whole load of heart ache at the other end, just waiting to pounce at you. No, Nicu much preferred being alone, then there wasn't any agonizing pain when someone died, or overwhealming lonliness when they were gone. Granted, if you never trusted anyone you never got any of the good stuff like love or happiness, but Nicu had convinced herself that she didn't need any of that.
She did suffer from rare and infrequent bursts of almost being sociable, which seemed to be happening right now seeing as Nudge hadn't been tossed over the edge and into the water yet. The crew members even seemed to be glancing at them nervously, as if just waiting for Nicu to get bored of the kid's company. However, the sailor actually smirked at her innocence and truthfullness, glancing down at her. "Well, ya right about one thing at least." She told her, almost sounding amused. "Am not hungover." No, she wouldn't deny that she was a little lot grumpy. She wasn't really just grumpy, she didn't play well with others was all.
Well, Nicu seemed to be having one of her infrequent sociable turns as she grinned at Nudge. "Ya know how to play cards?" She questioned, the question seeming to just come out of the blue as she tugged out a set of battered playing cards, fanning them out expertly with one hand. It seemed that Nicu was willing to take the girl under her wing, at least for a while, and teach her a few tricks. Being able to play cards would be good for her, she'd be able to swindle drunken sailors out of their wages and such, she'd never go hungry again if she got good at it.

"It's not that hard to trust people." Nudge told him with a light smile, "I mean, I trust you and I've only known you a few minutes. But that's probably because we're stuck on a ship together for a few weeks." she laughed, "I suppose I have no choice but to trust you and the crew. But I can see where you're coming from." she nodded, resting her wooden rod on the side on the side of the ship near the railings, wedging it in a small crack in the deck so it didn't just roll away with the ship's movement. She didn't know yet whether she'd get seasick or not, but at least she'd learned a simple remedy for it if she was unlucky enough to suffer with it. But so far being on the ship was exhilirating, the only dizzying feeling she got was because she was thinking too fast.
Nudge couldn't help but give the crew members a cheerful smile and a wave when they glanced over at her and Nicu; well, she wasn't aware that Nicu was rarely this sociable, was she? So far he just seemed like your regular rough sailor, not particularly in a good mood even at the best of times, but she could deal with that. She might have gotten the hang of being cheerful and optimistic naturally, but she was too polite to force it upon other people. "I've never learned properly, no..." she shook her head when Nicu brought out the playing cards, looking at them curiously, "Once someone taught me how to play Blackjack, and some travellers tried to teach me poker but I think they were a little drunk at the time." she giggled.
"What do you play?" she asked, smiling faintly as Nicu fanned out the cards, before letting her gaze dance across the horizon. Oh, the port was so far away now! She really felt like she was on a journey now, like she was on her way to somewhere new. While the port was still in sight it was almost as though she was just taking a short trip, but now there was almost nothing but blue skies and endless stretches of waves.

"You trust...me?" Nicu's gaze shifted down to the girl again, tilting her head at her as she scowled faintly, looking rather bemused. "Why'd ya trust me?" She questioned, as if there was no reason at all to trust someone like her. She hadn't even given her any reason to trust her, they'd only just met! God, Nudge was naive, wasn't she? Even more so than she had first thought. Next she would be telling her that you should trust people until they give you a reason not to, or other nonesense along the same lines. Psht, as if she would ever accept such rubbish. Then again, Nudge's answer did make a little sense. She supposed that she had a little trust in the crew's ability, if she didn't she'd never be able to let them touch anything on the ship, but she didn't trust any of them on a personal level. There was a difference, she was sure there was.
"Blackjack and poker, well, that's a start." She nodded as she moved away from the railings now, easily striding over the rocking deck to go over and sit a barrel, motioning for Nudge to take a seat with her. "Me? I play whatever anyone else is playing." She nodded, absently shuffling the cards as she seemed to think. She would teach her how to play poker properly, that was a popular game so she'd never run out of people wanting to play. Plus, no-one would ever trust that she'd be able to actually play cards properly, so she'd probably not have to try too hard to win. "Poker it is then." She nodded as she began to deal the cards out between them, a few of the crew members glancing over at them. Everyone loved a good game of cards, it's what kept them occupied through half of the trip, though playing card with Nicu had never been for the faint hearted.
(I have nooooo idea how to play poker. Tee hee. And baby post 'cause my mind died.)

((Heehee! It's okay, I'll have a time-skip in this post so you won't have to suffer the embarrassment of trying to teach a game you don't know. XD))
"I trust you because, like I said, I don't really have any other option do I?" she smiled brightly, "I'm stuck on a ship for a while, if I didn't trust you then it's a little late anyway, right?" she giggled, nodding lightly as Nicu told her he'd teach her poker, picking up her wooden rod to go and join him on the other barrell, having to practically climb onto it because of her lack of height. It was true, in any other situation Nudge would have given the typical 'I trust people until they give me a reason not to' speech, but she got the feeling that Nicu probably wasn't the type of person who thought that way at all, and it was most likely that not only would her words fall on deaf ears, but they were likely to get on his nerves as well.
And she had to be honest, she'd never realised that playing cards could be so much fun. She'd played a few times before, but mostly with either half-drunk or injured travellers, and never with people who could actually play the game. So it was strange to play cards for real, with someone who actually knew what they were doing. Nudge caught on pretty quickly to the idea of poker; the girl was like a sponge when it came to learning things, and this didn't seem to be any different. The sun was hanging low over the horizon when she finally realised just how long they'd been playing for, the little healer looking up to watch the dying rays of the sun shimmer across the water in an explosion of red and gold.
"Whoa..." she smiled a little, distracted by now from the cards she still held in her hand from their umpteenth game, before flitting her gaze back to Nicu. "I can see why people go out to sea and never go back." she murmured, "Why would anyone want to leave anything so pretty?"

(Thank you Chi, ilu. ^^ )
Nicu had to admit that she was surprised and impressed by how quickly and easily Nudge had picked up the game, not even Nicu herself had learnt the game so quickly, and she doubted that it was her amazing teaching skills that had helped her to learn so easily. The kid had potential, and it made her smirk to think about someone like Nudge beating one of the big, burly sailors that prided themselves on their card skills. They didn't react well when people like Nicu managed to win a hand of cards, nevermind if Nudge won. Then again, Nudge would have to learn to both cheat and recognise when others were cheating to be really good at the game, and she doubted that the girls mortals would ever allow her to cheat. Oh well, Nicu might just cheat for Nudge every now and again just so she could be amused by the others reactions to the kids success's.
Her gaze flickered away from the cards that were fanned out in her hand and out to the sunset at Nudge's comment, a genuine smile touching to her features as the reddish light warmed up her features. "Aye, it's a shame to leave summat like that just to keep ya feet on dry land." She agreed with the girl, brushing the few stray strands of hair back from her face. "I dunno how anyone can leave this behind, ya know?" She murmured, watching as the sun sank down beneath the waves, leaving the sky a water colour of vibrant oranges, reds, pinks and blues. "Ya'll never see a better sunset than the ones out at sea."
She blinked as she finally moved her gaze from the horizon, looking to the crew now. They were starting to settle down on the deck now, most of them gathering in little groups to play cards and drink. "Want to test out ya knew skills on a real game?"

Cheat? No, something like that would most likely just... slip over Nudge's head; she knew people cheated, and stole and pillaged and all the rest of it. She just... preferred to think that their own morals were too good to allow them to do it. And it wasn't as though people openly admitted to cheating at cards, so she wouldn't have to resort to lecturing on them and telling them that it was easier to win with skill than by cheating, and games were supposed to be half about luck anyway. Heck, if you won all the time then how did it even qualify as a game in the first place? Nicu probably would have to cheat for her, Nudge was too happy-go-lucky and a nice person to do any cheating for herself.
"I understand what you're saying..." she nodded softly as the sunset dazzled them with a firework display of vibrant reds and florescent oranges, "...But still. I'm sure there are many places that can leave you just as breathless as this one. And you can never see them if you stay on the sea all the time. After a while I think I'd start to see a ship as a sort of prison, since even though you can use it to unlock all of those places, you're still stuck on it for the majority of the time. While it might be pretty, it's still only a small fraction of the world." she mumbled, seeming to get caught up in her thoughts and jumping lightly when Nicu mentioned playing a real game of cards; she hadn't even noticed the other sailors were there!
"Oh! Sure, I think I could use a little more practise anyway." she giggled, "It beats singing, that's for sure. I lost my flute on the way here anyway..." she shrugged and nodded, smiling brightly over her shoulder to him. "Guess if I need a little extra money I'll just have to rely on singing." she figured.

"Am quite happy sticking to my little fraction of the world." Nicu told her rather simply, shrugging her shoulders. "Never aw what people went off looking for more when they had everything they needed back home in the first place." She murmured, her gaze still on the sunset, the glare of the light seeming to make her scar stand out against her skin as a ghastly reminder of her past. She was surprised that Nudge hadn't asked her about it yet, by now most people had questioned her about how she'd got it, and given empty apologies for something that was nothing to do with that. Gah, she didn't understand people, that was why she was happy trapped in her little fraction of the world; you could even go as far as to say that maybe she was a little afraid of the rest of the world, not that she would ever show it.
Singing? Nicu gave Nudge a rather unimpressed look at that point, something in her eyes saying that she woluld probably end up gagging Nudge is she started to sing, and she was actually rather greatful that she had lost her flute. It wasn't that she didn't enjoy music, but she knew that Nudge singing could very well turn into a sing-song with the whole crew if they'd had enough to drink...and that would be enough to make Nicu throw herself overboard or something equally as dramatic. No, Nudge was not going to get the whole crew singing, she refused to let her do something like that. If she threatened to sing she would just have to find some way to amuse her...or make her play cards. Easy, right?
"Good, a'll not make ya play against anyone too good yet...but ya gotta keep ya eyes open 'cause they're all lousy cheats." She nodded to her as she gathered up her cards and shuffled them into a neat pile before tucking them away back where they had come from before rising to her feet. She took a moment to glance around and see who had gathered to play cards and see what they were playing before moving over toward three rather weather worn looking men that were gathered around a barrel, motioning for Nudge to follow her. She nodded to the men in greeting as she sat down and glanced at the cards. "Poker?" She questioned and they nodded. "Good, me and the kid are joining. Go easy on her, try not to cheat. Am watching you." She warned them as she settled where she was sat, waiting for them to finish their game and start to deal the cards again.
