Nudge's head hurt. She groaned to herself as she began to wake up, faintly aware of the 'whoosh' noise as the waves lapped up around her rhythmically, the girl opening her eyes and squinting from the glare of the sun. She remembered the pirates... and the cannons. Oh, you couldn't forget those cannons. And she remembered beginning to swim away, bobbing along on debris with Nicu until... until... she must have passed out, or there was a storm, or... well, anything could have happened. But by the headache, she was painfully reassured of one thing. She'd survived. Slowly, the little healer shifted a little and instantly regretted it, seeing as at the same time a wave washed over her, filling her mouth with salt water. Nice.
"Bleh!" she coughed and sat up a little, rubbing her eyes and gazing around in confusion. She was covered in scrapes and grazes and she was soaking wet, red hair plastered to her face. And she didn't know where she was. Helpful. But she was alive, and that was definitely better than nothing. She hadn't had a chance to look around at where they were properly yet, only aware that it must have been an island of some kind considering that she was covered in sand. Ew, and she betted that there was water and sand in her shoes too. As her head began to clear a little more, getting less foggy, she suddenly realised that she'd overlooked something (or someone) very important in all of this.
"...Nicu...?" she looked around suddenly, rubbing the back of her head and slowly crawling up the beach away from the waves, to give herself some kind of a chance to dry off. "Where are you...?" she wondered softly, looking out at the endless blue of the ocean. She hoped the sailor was alright. She'd bet Nicu had survived out of sheer bloody-mindedness, and she was willing to hold onto that hope until someone told her otherwise.

Sand didn't taste good. That was the first thing that registered to Nicu when she started to come around. It made it really difficult to breathe too. The sailor choaked as she pushed herself up so that she was on her hands and knee's, ignoring the pain that moving sparked as she coughed up a mouthful of sand and sea water, brushing the sand from her hand before wiping at her nose and mouth to clear away the rest of the sand, now able to breathe with much more ease, even though breathing hurt. In fact, everything hurt. She felt as though she'd been fighting and lost. Wait. She had been fighting and lost. Damn. She forced her eyes open, turning her gaze down to look herself, wondering how badly hurt she was.
Her train of thoughts was broken, however, as a voice drifted down the beach to her, calling her name. Nudge. The girl had actually survived? She was definatly tougher than she looked. "Nudge! Just stay where ya' are. Am comin'." She called back, pushing her hair back from her face and gritting her teeth as she rose to her feet. Her ankle felt twisted, and she had a pretty deep cut in her thigh, which made walking painful, Nicu settling for more of a shuffling limp as she hobble down the beach towards the sound of the other girls voice.
"Damn, fuckin' pirates." She grumbled under her breath as she went, along with various other curses. Oh, she hated pirates.

It was somewhat of a sad sight, the small makeshift raft just drifting in the vast Yōsei sea. Most of the figure's upper body was under the shade of a section of a tattered sail, propped up with the shaft of a broken oar. A white furred wolf-dog and a young piglet were also under the cloth as well. Sticking out from the cloth were a pair of bare feet, with a pair of well worn boots near bye. Next to the boots sat a slumped over ratty looking brown rutsack and a folded orange garment. A jagged, pitted scar starting in the center of his foot ran up and under his baggy pants. A thin, prehensile tail was also visible, covered in bright orange fur, droopingly swayed back and forth. The end a what appeared to be a dark gray, polished sword sheath made of light-weight iron stuck out from the shade, as did the end of a long object wrapped in black cloth and tightly bound with a black chain. Upon closer inspection, one would fine runes etched into each link on the chain, and that said chain was made of no ordinary metal. "Hmm...," The figure's nose twitched slightly as he stared lazily up at the sail, "Land, I do believe." After a few more moments of drifting, he felt the bottom of the raft scrape against the sandy beach floor of the tiny island. Kamui sat up. He hopped into the shallow water, pausing a few moments to enjoy the sensation of the sand between his toes. The wolf-dog and the piglet both jumped into the water, swimming the the shore. Following the animals, Kamui dragged the raft ashore. "Hmm..." Standing on the beach, letting the tide lap around his feet and ankles, he surveyed his surroundings. Sakurako came to sit next to Kamui. Yibbles had moved beyond the reach of the tide, sniffing around and digging in the sand with his snout on the hopes of finding something interesting. After a moment Kamui turned his head, looking down the beach a ways, his nose sniffing. "What are the chances of that...?" Sakurako looked in the same direction, her ears perked..

Nudge looked up sharply as she was actually answered, finding it bemusing to say the least, especially since she couldn't see anything to her left or right over the vast piles of sand. Well, that was until she saw the Nicu-shaped figure pop up from the shore, a bright smile lighting up the healer's face. She knew she'd survive somehow, although by the way she was limping Nudge got the impression that she hadn't been so lucky when they'd been... well... blown up. She'd checked herself over by this time, and apart from her cuts and grazes (and inevitable bruises) she didn't seem to be badly injured, even pulling herself to her feet as she waited for Nicu.
"'Kay!" she chirped, shaking her drenched cloak out to get rid of some of the sand and raking her fingers through her hair, before letting her gaze flit off down the beach. It was the raft that caught her attention, bobbing about like a cork on the waters, and heading steadily towards the shore.
"Nicu... look..." she was fully distracted by the little boat by this time, her face turned to the shore as the figure climbed out... well, figures, but she couldn't quite make out what his companions were yet; she had decided that he must be male. "...Are we on a popular island?" she asked, tilting her head.

Nicu hadn't been quite as lucky as Nudge had been, She was covered in scrapes and bruises, along with the deep gash in her leg, the twisted ankle and a pain when she was breathing that she would rather not investigate right now. Firstly she just needed to get across the beach to Nudge, when she was there the little healer would probably want to look at her injuries anyway, so she would let her deal with them.
"Look at what?" She snapped, not meaning to snap, but right now she wasn't really in the mod for appreciating the landscape. She was in a terrible mood, but being shipwrecked could do that to a person. "I dunno, Nudge. Just bloody woke up, not had chance to have a look aroun' yet." She grumbled, lowering her voice now that she was finally close enough to Nudge that they could just talk. "Not a clue where we are. We're alive? Ain't that enough?"
She did, however, look around when she realised that Nudge was looking at a point just down the beach, wondering if any of the rest of the crew had been washed up here. Nicu and Nudge were lighter than the rest of the crew, so maybe they had been washed up sooner than the others? Not that it mattered, the boat was gone and Nicu was going to have to find herself a new job. Darn pirates.
She rubbed at the scar over her eye as she peered down the beach, her eyes narrowing as she spotted the figure clambering out of the makeshift boat. Her hand immediatly move to rest over her sword, a scowl moving over her features. "Oh, this is just what we need."

"I don't see a boat or anythin'. I wonder if they're shipwrecked." He said to Sakurako. "Is that blood I smell? One of them may be wounded. Maybe we should go over an' see if they need help." He began to walk towards the two people down the beach. Sakurako walked alongside him. Yibbles, left to his own devices, continued digging in the sand. "Hello there!" Kamui called out as he drew closer. "No, no, wait... Ahoy there! ...Avast ye? No, that means stop, I think ...Um, arrr?" He scratched his chin, 'Hmm... I should probably brush up more on sailor talk.'

"Yeah, we're alive. I guess we're pretty lucky, huh Nicu." Nudge smiled to her brightly, as though everything was fine and they weren't stuck God-knows where with a stranger who may or may not be their enemy, rather than their friend. "But you're pretty hurt... can you walk? Or should I try to heal you now, just in case...?" she tilted her head, seeming to be in some kind of predicament until she heard the stranger call out to them, somehow managing to ignore the fact that Nicu had already drawn her sword.
"Hey!" she grinned at the sailor, "He talks like some of the crew did! You think he's a sailor like you?" she asked, already moving across the sand without a moment's hesitation, waving in a wide arch at the man coming towards them.
"Hiiiii!" she called back, before thinking for a moment. "I mean, um... wait, I learned this from those guys we played cards with... Avast, ye scurvy dog, or I be haulin' ye down ta t'brig!" she shouted heartily, before reconsidering. "Oh, dear, no. I think that was an insult. Sorry, sir!!"

"I just walk'd across the beach to ya', right? Pretty sure that mi legs aren't gonna drop off." She told Nudge, her tone maybe a little sharper than she had intended. She wasn't angry with Nudge, she was just generally angry with their current situation. The fact that the strange man was now walking towards them, and he was talking to them. If he tried anything funny she was just going to stab him, no questions asked; she wasn't in the mood for playing games.
"What do ya' want?" She demanded, not even bothering with greetings. She was in pain, and all she wanted to do was sit down. The sooner they shooed off this man the better.

"Hi!" He replied to Nudge cheerily. "It's all right, I'm not an expert on sailor talk either." He turned his attention to Nicu, noting the sword, but seemed unconcerned. "Wow, what are the chances of runnin' inta two pretty young ladies here?" Sakurako eyed Nicu warily as Kamui continued speaking in a casual manner. "I thought I just might come over ta' say 'hi' an' see if ya' needed any help or anythin'."
(Waah. I feel intimidated and inadequate about my post size.)

The small troupe of pirates trekked through the tropical forest of the island. Swatting the rare bugs and slicing their way across the land scape. “And your positive that this is the right island, Skippa? I could'a sworn we've passed this tree before! And these fucking bugs, the legends say nothing 'bout bugs whose front legs are like scythes!” grunted the mini captain, punching one of the mantis into a tree. She spun around and walked up to the sailor who had lead the crew after she 'went to sleep' the night before. “If this is the wrong island and we don't find anything shiny or worth while. I'm going to tie you the the front of my ship an let you make great friends with the ocean!”
It was all the sailor could do to not drop his head in embarrassment from getting told off by his new captain. “Capt'n Bones, could it be true that the legends be false? Member the last treasure?” Victoria turned towards the other pirate and sighed, “That was not my fault! We found the tomb, eventually anyway.” She turned away and began back along the trees, the three men falling in behind her. She walked out of the trees and onto the beach, taking three people, a pig, and a dog into view. “Well, looks like we do have a find here.” She walked down towards the beach smiling, “Ahoy. I will be taking all of your valuables now so please hand them over peacefully so I don't have to take your arm or worse your life with it.” She continued to smile while holding out her right hand for payment, and placing her left hand on her waist.

"Oh, phew! I'm glad you can't really speak sailor either. Well... not glad in that sense, of course, I'm sure it would be lovely if you could speak sailor. I just... um... hi. My name is Nudge." she smiled to him brightly, deciding that she may as well brush off their rather confusing meeting with politeness (that and she rather thought that it would make up for Nicu quite obviously taking on a threatening stance).
The little healer cocked her head at the word 'ladies', slowly turning to look around at Nicu. "...I guess the ocean did make your shirt a little see-through." she mumbled, blushing a little, "Either that or he's very perceptive. Hey, how'd you know my friend's a girl, Mister?"
She was rather surprised when the little troupe suddenly marched from the tropics onto the beach, quite taken off guard and for a moment completely forgetting that Nicu and Kamui were even there. "...Pirates...?" she mumbled, frowning a little. Pirates. She had decided, good nature or not, pirates weren't in her good books. They had been exploded by pirates, after all.
"My, what a little person." she commented under her breath as the captain spoke, blinking at her stupidly for a second at the mentioning of 'valuables'. She glanced at Nicu as if to ask what to do, shrugging a little. As though they had any valuables. The ocean owned those now.

It was clear from Nicu's face as she listened to the conversation that she thought that both this strange man and Nudge were insane. There was no other explination for it, they were just insane. Their dismal attempts at sailor talk were bad enough, but couple that with their cheerfulness at such an in appropriate moment.
Kamui's next comment, however, left her staring at him in disbelief. 'Pretty ladies', he couldn't have said anything else that would have caught her so off guard. She had been called a lot of things in her time, but pretty wasn't one of them. Plus, he knew that she was female...though she guessed that Nudge was right, her shirt was sticking to her right now. She plucked the matierial away from her body rather self consiously, Nicu no longer seeming all that sure of herself at all.
She didn't get long to dwell on her sudden insecurities, however, seeing as, right at that moment, a band of pirates burst out from the forest. Today just kept getting better and better.
Nicu made quite a show of looking down at herself for a moment. She was soaking wet, covered in grazes and bruises, and the only thing that she had with her was her slightly rusty sword, it was sort of obvious that she didn't have anything valuable with her. Oh, she hated pirates, and she hated stupid pirates even more.
"We ain't got no valuables, so ya' can be on ya' way and there won't be any trouble." She wasn't stupid, she did realise that she couldn't fight a whole band of pirates alone, and she didn't want to risk Nudge getting captured by them, or hurt, or worse, so it was better not to pick a fight. They couldn't, however, be seen to back down though, or the pirates would think that they were push overs...and that was never good.

"Hello, Nudge. Call me Sy." He said, grinning and doing a little bow. "Uhh... were ya' tryin' ta' hide it?" He looked at Nicu quizzically, noting her expression. "I'm sure your bosom is quite lovely, but aside from that your features, though rough, have a touch of femininity an' your adam's apple isn't very pronounced. Also, your scent is unmistakably female. Speakin' of scents..." He turned his head toward where the group of pirate emerged. "Hmm... let's see." He reached under his vest and threw out a few copper coins onto the sand. Next to these he dropped several shuriken. "Sorry I don't have more, but that's about all I have that's of value ta' ya' guys. Hm, no wait... I've got some herbal poultices if ya' want those too."

Victoria's ears began to twitch under her bandana as Nudge made the comment about her being a little person. She slid her left hand down slightly, onto the scarab of her blade as the other grounded person rose a voice of retaliation to her. Victoria sighed and rose her right hand to the back of her head, scratching it quickly before placing it on her waist. “Well, that might just be a major issue pal. I'll have to take your lives then.” As her band of merry men drew their blades the third person began to drop items on the ground in front of his feet.
With a wave of her hand she halted her pirates and walked over to the loot. She bent over and examined the few copper coins and the shuriken slightly covered by the sand. “Please tell me, there be more than this small portion. I really don't want to have to be taking the things ya'll call lives now.” Victoria waved her hand allowing the sailors to apprehend the three poor beach goers as she moved back with the small bits of loot to watch.
The largest of the men went for Kamui, seeing him and the largest threat of the three. The other two, lean and slightly sick looking upon close examination rose their swords to the girls. “Ch'a be commin with us now.”

Nudge was rather taken aback at the speed at which events were unfolding. A few minutes ago she had woken up like a drowned rat on the shore of an unknown island. That had swiftly leapt to experimenting with sailor talk with their new companion, Sy, and being lectured (again) by Nicu. Now they were being threatened by pirates? Oh, this wasn't turning out to be a very good day. She didn't even know where her staff had washed up, if it had washed up at all, and she'd feel a lot better with it, to be honest. At least she could give a couple of the pirates a good conk on the head with it, if she had to.
"Hey, whoa!" she stepped back as they drew their swords, seeming ever so confused as Sy simply dropped his valuables to the ground - perhaps it was because she had been around Nicu for so long that she found this behaviour strange, having expected that he, like Nicu, would be the voice of defiance in all of this. "Wait, what if I don't want to go with you? You're pirates, aren't you? That means you'll be all 'Arrrrrr' and angry and such, right? I don't want to be associating myself with any of that right now, especially since I don't even know where I am. And besides which, my friend is hurt." she pointed to Nicu's injured leg, "The least you could do is let me heal him, and then kill us. Seems more fair that way." she pouted.
