Lexie had finished her story for the children just as the sun sank beneath the horizon; a fitting ending for a story about the sun-set, she thought. It was only then that she realised what time it was, and had to bid the disappointed children a good evening and skip off back into the inn. From the deep blush on the landlady's cheeks and the way she seemed almost in a dream as she flitted around the ground floor the little jester was pretty certain that her warning had fallen on deaf ears, not that she was surprised of course. If Kevay HAD listened to her she might have even been rather frightened, and she giggled to herself and shook her head as she dashed up the stairs to their room. She knew the cupid would have undoubtedly cleared everything away by now; she was utterly convinced that he would make her go to the masquerade naked if she even accidentally peeked at her dress.
Even she was surprised with the speed at which he answered the door though; she had barely knocked and there he was, looking rather pleased with himself, although whether this was because he had successfully seduced the landlady or because he was pleased with the process of the making of their clothes she didn't know. She gave him a bright smile in return nonetheless, however that quickly turned into a look of utter bewilderment at his greeting. "Wha...?" she asked as she wandered into the room, closing the door behind her and looking at him suspiciously until he explained himself. "Well, dress up is better than what I assumed you had in mind." she smirked, although her eyes grew rather misty and star-struck at the tone of his voice, and she nodded lightly.
Ohh, she'd get him back for this when she remembered how to think. Until then, though, she merely gave him a light smile and took the ribbons from her hair so they wouldn't get caught on anything, before swiftly undressing. "You can look as much as you want." she told him sweetly, even the words seeming uncharacteristic of Lexie. She noticed the strip of material in his hand and smirked at him, a little more sense returning to her gaze as she shook her head. "I didn't know dress up required me to be blindfolded." she sighed exhasperatedly and pouted at him, before reluctantly nodding in acceptance. "Okay handsome, go ahead. Dress me up." she winked.

The look of bemusement on Lexie's face was adorable, Kevay just smirking to himself as he guided her into the room. "Well, I don't know. What you thought I had in mind would probably be just as fun as playing dress up, but, unfortunatly, right now I don't have time for what you thought I had in mind. Maybe later, huh?" He teased, giving her a playful nudge before sweeping across the room to leave her to undress. He chuckled as she told him that he could watch, shaking his head a little. "I fear that you would slap me once you get your senses back, so I won't peek. I'm a gentleman, Rain." He told her, pretending to be offended, though the fact that he couldn't stop chuckling made it difficult to sound serious.
He turned to face her once she was done, moving over to gently sweep her hair out of the way and tie the blindfold over her eyes. "Oh, but ma cherie, if you remember, peeking will spoil the surprise." He grinned, tying the material firmly so that it wouldn't slip, but not so tight that it would be uncomfortable. Once he was sure that she couldn't see, he went to get the dress from where he had hidden it, helping Lexie into it before starting to pin it here and there to mark where he would need to make adjustments, carefully circling her and checking every last part of the dress, to make sure that it fit perfectly. He would sew int into place when he was sure that he had found every last adjustment that he needed to make...though he had to admit, the dress was looking beautiful already.
"Now, try to stand still and I will have a reward for you when I'm done. Plus, standing still will make it less likely that I stab you with the pins or my needle." He advised, grabbing his needle and thread now to move and start actually making his adjustments, smiling and humming to himself cheerfully as he worked. "How does it feel, by the way? You don't mind the fact that it isn't full length? I was worried that a floor length skirt might make you look a little short. You would drown in all the material...plus it's easier to move in a shorter shirt...plus you have wonderful legs. So, any objections?"

"You're pure evil, Kevay!" Lexie exclaimed as soon as the blindfold was tied neatly to stop her from seeing; it was easier to pretend he wasn't there and act normally when she couldn't see him after all, even if his voice was distracting enough. "Damn right I'd slap you, but unfortunately I can't see and I'm afraid I'd end up attacking innocent furniture instead of you, you villain." she smirked in the direction of his voice, and even though her eyes were covered you could practically sense the mischief in them. She stepped into the dress as carefully as possible so there wasn't a risk of her tripping over it and ripping it or anything, staying as still as she could as he did it up. This was the easy part, once he started working she'd start to fidget, she could FEEL it.
"You're quiet." she murmured, looking worried as he circled the dress and pinned it here and there to make adjustments. "Is that a good thing? Or do I look hideous?" she joked. She wasn't sure which was more likely to make her stand still though, this promise of a reward or the threat of being stabbed with pins, but either way she gave him a rather confused expression and stayed as still as possible as he started to work. "I'll do my best. Although I'm not sure I want this reward of yours." she smirked, finding it slightly more easy not to fidget when there was the danger of being pricked with a needle; being measured had just been a bit of fun to her, but this had sharp objects involved.
"It feels great." she admitted as he worked around her, smiling lightly and lifting a hand to gently touch the fabric of the dress for a moment. "I can't wear long skirts for that exact reason. I look like a Gnome when I wear them. Besides, it's hard to dance and perform and be as generally adorable as me if you're worried you're going to trip over your skirts at any moment and go falling head-first into god knows what." she giggled, "So no, I don't have any objections." she shook her head. She blushed brilliantly at his compliment about her 'wonderful legs', although she didn't say anything, staring straight ahead now... well, she would have if she could actually see. Same difference.

"I really am, aren't I?" He was stood behind her at this point, leaning over to gently brush her hair back away from her ear and whisper into it, quite obviously playing with her. "But you know that you love me." He chuckled, a little worried that he may get a slap for that little stunt, or she could faint. Her fainting would be bad, she would pull out all the pins he had put in the dress and get the dress dirty...and it would be difficult to sew the dress if she wasn't able to stand up. "I am an evil villian, but at least I am a dashingly handsome one. It's not just the hero's that get to be good looking you know." He smirked as he returned to his sewing, careful not to catch Lexie with his needle. Sewing the dress to her skin was a bad idea.
"Hideous?" He asked, a couple of pins poking out of the corner of his mouth, bobbing up and down as he spoke. "Sweetheart, I made this dress, of course it isn't hideous!" He exclaimed, sounding almost offended. "It looks magnificent, but I am concentrating." He advised her with a nod, not having paused from his sewing as he spoke to her. "Not sure that you want my treat? I would bet that you'll want it when I tell you what it is." He chuckled, flitting around to start sewing another part of the dress, removing the pins as he went. He continued like this for about half an hour, Kevay batting her hands away from the dress, as though he was worried that she would guess what her dress looked like just from feeling it, and then his surprise would be ruined.
"I think it's done." He murmured as he took a step back to survey his work, placing his needle and his pins on the desk. "You feel any pins left in it? Ha! You are going to be the belle of the ball." He informed her with a pleased smile. "How does it feel on? Too tight, too baggy, just right?" He questioned as he moved back over to her, inspecting the dress moe closely now. "I have outdone myself this time, I really have. You will be fighting the men off with a stick..." He informed her, a playful tone to his voice. "As long as you don't forget about little ol' me I don't mind though." He winked to her, forgetting that she was wearing the bildfold and couldn't see him.

Yes, the little jester did seem rather close to swooning at the sound of his whispered voice in her ear, and had her reflexes been just that tiny bit faster she'd have managed to smack him full in the face. As it was she just found herself rather dizzy for a few moments, glad that he was hovering around her just in case she fainted and he had to catch her. "When I'm allowed to move again Kevay, I'll show you just how much I love you." she warned him in a voice that made it sound much more like a threat than anything else, although as she recovered her high spirits returned and she let him flit about her and the dress as much as he liked, just glad that her head didn't feel all tingly any more. She generally felt tingly and lightheaded whenever Kevay was around, but it wasn't often she was close to swooning... Not VERY often, anyway.
"Oh, I do apologise, Kevay." she smirked at him, "I suppose if there's ONE thing your tremendous ego is good for, it's assuring me that my dress looks fantastic." she laughed, sensing him step back and taking that as the cue that he was finished. She had to resist the urge to whip the blindfold off then and there just to spite him, but realised that he probably would go crazy and jab her with pins and the like if she did that. "No, doesn't feel like there are any pins left in there." she shook her head to him, "And it's perfect. I've never had clothes that fitted this well." she admitted, smiling lightly and tilting her head at him. "Belle of the ball, huh? I might well be, but I don't think I'd be able to outshine you, let alone forget about you." she scoffed.
Brushing a lock of hair from her face, she somehow managed to make it look as though she was staring right at him even with the blindfold on. "Can I get dressed again now please? I don't want to crease all your hard work, and I'm afraid I'll have gone permanently blind if I don't take off this blindfold soon." she giggled to him, being careful not to touch her dress or even look down at it for fear that he'd think she was peeking. She didn't want to ruin the surprise either, it was just nice to hear Kevay sounding so happy after what had happened only a day or so before. "Well? Was I still enough for you?" she asked after a while, as if only just remembering this 'reward' and grinning at him.

Kevay was ready to catch Lexie if she did happen to faint, not wanting any of the pins to be pulled out of the dress or for it to get dirty, or creased. Maybe he shouldn't have teased her like that, he would be rather annoyed if she fainted on him right now. Then again, nothing he had ever done before had made her faint, so he hoped that he hadn't just found out how to make her faint. On the other hand, he would really have to make her swoon properly one day, just to prove that he could do it. Lexie actually held the record for resisting him right now. Any other woman would have turned to jelly after being around him for so long. He was proud of her! Maybe that was why he liked her so much, because she wasn't just another woman that threw herself at his feet.
Thankfully, Lexie didn't pass out, and he smirked as she spoke. "Show me how much you love me? I've heard that one a couple of times, but never as a threat." He laughed rather cheerfully, stepping forward to make a few tweaks to how the dress hung before nodding to himself. He was pleased with the outcome. It was perfect, just as he had imagined. Hopefully she would like it and it would be a good enough thank you for everything that she had done for him. He would be upset if she didn't like it. He had no idea how he would say thank you if the dress didn't work. All he was good at was charming the pants off women and dress making...and he doubted that charming her pants off would be much of a thank you.
"It looks like it fits well." He smiled and nodded. "I will be the male belle of the ball. Luckily for you, men don't seem to be attracted to me, so you will have your pick." He smirked to her, looking slightly worried as she looked right at him. Even with the blindfold on, she was looking right at him. He was half worried that she could see through the blindfold. "Yeah, you can take your clothes off again now." He nodded to her, moving to help her out of the dress and pass her her own clothes, carefully hiding the dress away before moving to take her blindfold off. "Yes, you were perfectly still. You get your reward." He nodded, resting a hand on her cheek as he swept over to place a gentle and brief kiss on her lips, his other hand on the bottom of her back in case she fainted. "Good enough reward?" He smirked and winked to her.

Getting dressed with a blindfold on, Lexie decided, was something rather to be avoided. Even though she had pretty good balance, she still found dressing when you couldn't even see the clothes in front of you to be particularly difficult. Eventually she managed to dress herself without falling all over the place, although she looked rather dizzy when Kevay finally took off the blindfold, taking a second to sort out her hair so that she didn't look as though she'd been dragged through a hedge backwards before she smiled up at him brightly. "A male belle of the ball? Is there even a term for that? And you really believe that any man at some masquerade is going to compare when I'm hanging around you all the time?" she smirked at him, folding her arms. "It's gotten past the point where you have to be modest." she giggled.
Lexie's 'yay I get my reward!' was rather cut off when he leant down and kissed her, the little jester certainly not having expected that - although, she really should have expected it considering that it was Kevay, shouldn't she? She'd been thinking her reward would be something along the lines of a cookie or not being jabbed with any pins in the next day or so, but not this. Perhaps being blindfolded had made her stupid, considering that all the thoughts in her head, including the ones which were mildly irritated at being kissed without permission had quite dreamily floated away, which would have been unnerving if she had cared in the slightest. The kiss might only have been brief, but it might as well have lasted a thousand years with the way time seemed to have stopped.
By the time the clocks on the walls had started ticking again and Lexie remembered to breathe she had looped her arms around Kevay's neck to keep herself standing up. She was thankful for his arm around her seeing as it meant she toppled forwards instead of backwards, and she was rapidly trying to tell her legs to stop feeling like jelly and hold her up, although it didn't seem to be doing much good. Couple this with the dizzy feeling and the fireworks going off in her mind and she was pretty close to swooning, but as long as Kevay stayed where he was and gave her a little time for her mind to recover she might just be okay. "Fireworks, Kevay... pretty ones..." she smiled dumbly, leaning against him now with her head on his chest, a hazy, star-struck look in her eyes. Nothing like a Cupid to turn even the most headstrong of women into dithering idiots, no?
"Maybe I should sit down... or something..." she managed after a while, still seeming pretty out of it. All of that with one kiss? She'd have to watch Kevay, pesky cupid that he was.

Kevay had to fight hard not to laugh as she stuggled back into her clothes, fearing that she would hit him or something equally violent if he heard her. He really could have removed the blindfold once he had put the dress away and made it easier for her to put her clothes back on, but watching her struggle was far more fun. He carefully hid his grin as her blindfold was removed, acting as though nothing out of the ordinary existed. "Of course there are male belle's of the ball, they just don't stand out as much as their female counterparts." He explained before smirking at her other comment. "Well, I am afraid that no man will seem very much if you compare him to me. I am a class of my own." He winked to her, deciding not to point out that it was impossible for him to be modest; he didn't even know the meaning of the word.
His arm grew a little firmer around her waist as he felt how unsteady she was all of a sudden. Ha! So there was a way to make her turn to jelly. Poor Lexie looked so dazed, and that was just after one little kiss, who would have ever thought that one little kiss could have such a huge effect? The look on her face was adorable though, he should kiss her more often just to get her to look like that. "Yeah, most people tend to see fireworks after kisses, it's a good thing." He assured her with one of his most charming smiles, reaching to brush a strand of hair back from her face. Kevay just didn't know when to stop, did he? He was so used to charming his way through life that sometimes he forgot what he was doing.
"Yes, you should sit down, then maybe your head will stop spinning. It'll take longer for you to come around if you stay near me." He told her, gently leading her over to the bed and sitting her down, standing with his hands on her shoulders, holding her at arms length to give her a chance to de-muddle her thoughts. If she didn't come around again soon he would have to go and get her something to drink and stand at the other side of the room to leave her to get over the kiss. Bah, it was only a little kiss, imagine her reaction if he had kissed her properly! She would have surely fainted.
"So, I'm guessing that you enjoyed your reward then?" He questioned, his voice velvety smooth.

"Yes, good fireworks." she smiled to him dumbly as he led her over to the bed, seeming completely in a world of her own as she lifted her hand to bring the illusion of dazzling fireworks dancing over their heads. "Like those, but prettier." she nodded, looking up at him in confusion as he held her at arms length, as if wondering what he was doing being so far away like that. That was't fair at all, was it? Although, slowly but surely she seemed to be coming around, rubbing the side of her head and letting the imaginary fireworks overhead dispel themselves before she gazed at him again. It wasn't so much that he had kissed her, even if it was just a brief kiss, that had taken her so utterly by surprise, it was that he had done it without warning her. Kevay was pure evil like that, she had decided as a little more sense returned to her gaze.
She had concentrated so much ever since she'd met him on not falling head over heels for him at every little thing he did, when he went and surprised her with something like that he turned her into the brainless noble women who liked to fawn over him and giggle so much. Which would be pretty good in Lexie's eyes, had she not been pretty happy with a brain. Besides, if she hadn't been strange and had some kind of deficiency which meant she was less affected by Kevay than your average woman then she'd never have been able to help him when he needed it, so she could be forgiven for turning to jelly just this once, right? "Don't you ever do that again." she smacked his arm playfully, the familiar little mischievous glimmer in her eyes saying that she had recovered.
"Whether I enjoyed my reward or not is completely irrelevent." she folded her arms and pouted, blushing faintly as she looked away from him and out of the window as if to say she wasn't going to talk about that anymore. "Next time I'm gonna reeeeally misbehave, I've decided I don't want any more of your rewards since they turn me into an idiot." she grinned to him, not seeming that angry, eventually getting up from the bed to brush herself off. "You seemed to enjoy yourself anyway, you fiend."

Lexie really was adorable, wasn't she? She had to be amongst the cutest people that he had ever seen when she was flustered. It probably helped that she was usualy so collected, usually able to keep her wits about her and not fall for his charm. He had almost been worried that she wasn't attracted to him! His ego wouldn't have been able to take that, there was a strong possibility that he would implode if anyone ever found him truely unattractive...either that or they would get shot with an arrow and gently persuaded to accept his obvious, cupidy charm. He hadn't really wanted to shoot Lexie with one of his arrows, the fact that she wasn't always a giggly wreck around him was refreshing, he liked having someone to talk to who could actually string a sentence together.
"Ow." He pouted to her as she smacked his arm, pretending to be hurt as he stepped back away from her, rubbing at the spot that she had hit. "And there was me being a gentleman and making sure that you didn't fall over." He smirked to her, teasing her playfully. "No, you enjoying it is highly relevant otherwise it wouldn't have been a very good reward." He pointed out, letting his hands rest in his pockets now. "It's pretty obvious that you enjoyed it though. Good firewoks and everything." He chuckled to her, shaking his head a little.
He pouted at her again as she told him never to do that again, folding his arms over his chest like a child. "But but but!" He complained, "Look how quickly you recovered. You were only flustered girly goo for a little while, not at long as most people." He nodded to her, sounding impressed by her swift recovery. "I almost feel as though I haven't charmed you enough and need to have another try." He added, mischief in his eyes once again, though he made sure that he was a safe distance from her so that she couldn't hit him again. "Hmmm, well, in that case, kisses will be punishment from now on. I can't have you wriggling everywhere when I am trying to fit you into your clothes. I will have to think up a new reward...but...what better reward can you get than a kiss for me?"

It was safe to say that Lexie wouldn't be particularly thrilled either if he went and shot her with one of his arrows, even if by that point she wouldn't really know or care about being happy with it or not. At least Kevay had proven that she wasn't totally immune to his charms, and even Lexie had to admit that it was kind of sort of almost fun to feel like one of those silly noble girls for a little while instead of biting her tongue and staying collected around Kevay. That didn't mean she'd be doing it everyday, but still. "If you're the one that almost made me fall over in the first place then you being a gentleman about it is redundant!" she told him playfully, shaking her head and pretending to pout, turning away from him a little. "My fireworks were beautiful, thank you." she smirked.
"I may have only been flustered girly goo for a little while, but I was still girly goo, isn't that enough?" she giggled to him, though gasped at the mischief in his eyes. He had moved out of hitting distance, but that didn't mean she'd not get him for that. Without a word she took off her shoe and threw the thing at him, laughing triumphantly. "I've found a way to combat your cupidness." she teased lightly, "It involves throwing something at you whenever you try and get all charming and such." she nodded wisely, looking as though she had found the meaning of life or something, disregarding how silly she must look standing there with one shoe on with a victorious smile on her face.
"You could buy me a new shoe as a reward?" she offered, sinking down onto her bed and leaning back on her hands, smiling out of the window now. She was really getting excited about this masquerade. She couldn't even wait for tomorrow, and their clothes weren't finished yet! Oh, what would she do with herself all day? It wasn't even as if she could stay in the room with Kevay because he'd shoo her for peeking at her dress. "How long will you be working on everything tomorrow?" she asked eventually, tilting her head, "I think I might hang around downstairs and be boring while I wait for you. Or I guess I could find out more about the masquerade, like what's going to be there and stuff." she suggested, looking thoughtful.

"No. I am a gentleman and there is no arguing with that. How was I supposed to know that a little kiss would make you react like that." He teased, pouting faintly as he folded his arms over his chest. "You just don't know a real gentleman when you see one. How will you know when your Prince Charming has come along when you accuse me of not being a gentleman?!!?" Kevay was obviouisly in a good mood after the dress fitting, glad that the dress was turning out the way that he wanted it to. If things had been going badly he would have been in a foul mood, so it was lucky for Lexie that he liked the dress...plus she had to wear it, so it really was a good job that it was beautiful.
"Yeah, I suppose that you turning into girly goo, even momentarily, is enough." He told her with a fake sigh and a nod. "EW! Lexie, SHOE!" He wrinkled his nose up and danced out of the way, narrowly missing getting clouted on the head by the shoe. "That wasn't nice. Shoes are dirty, just think of all the things you stood in." He shuddered, nudging the shoe with the toe of his boat, watching it as though he expected it to attack him. "Humph, you're not getting any more kisses if I end up getting shoes thrown at me. You are violent Lexie, you have a problem. I fear for my safety sometimes when you are around." He was obviously teasing her, finding it hard to keep a straight face as he spoke. "I mean...next time you might actually hit me, and just think about how guilty you would feel for hurting a face as pretty as mine."
"A new shoe? That would be a bori- wait! You need shoes to go with your dress!" He exclaimed, sounding shocked that he had forgotten something so important. "I will be working all day tomorrow, I have to make myself something to wear...but you can stay up here while I sew my costume. You could go out and buy yourself some pretty shoes though? If I tell you what colour to get and give you the money?" He suggested with a hopeful smile, not wanting to waste time trawling around the shops for the perfect pair of shoes. "See, you really can have new shoes as a reward."

“I’m pretty sure that my Prince Charming wouldn’t blindfold me, change my clothes and then randomly kiss me and almost make me fall over.” she put in with a grin, “And my only experience with any Prince Charming so far has given me this kiss, and the time before it where we had to run away from a burning mansion.” she reminded him, although she quickly discarded that subject in lieu of something a little less… scary. She was supposed to be cheering Kevay up AND cheering herself up and that wouldn’t work if she let herself think about that place too much. Hopefully he’d be more distracted by her compliment about him being a Prince Charming to think about that awful place. She smiled at him innocently as he accused her of having a violence problem, a playful look in her eyes to match his. They were terrible together, weren’t they?
“I really am, Kevay, I’m sorry.” she apologised, sighing in mock regret, “I should get myself to anger management or something, perhaps I could get a job kicking drunkards out of taverns. Oh, I bet I could even become a knight!” she cheered, beaming up at him. “I think I’d make a really good knight, wouldn’t you, Kevay? All in shining armour with a pretty sword.” Lexie had risen to her feet now, standing as if she was holding a broadsword, pretending to swing it around and smiling at him triumphantly.
“That would at least solve a little of my anger issues wouldn’t it?” she stopped, tilting her head as she looked at her shoe like it was some villain that needed vanquishing. “Are you kidding?” she giggled to him, “The shoe would be more likely to reach up and smack you in the face all by itself than me actually be able to hit you. Shoes are rotten for throwing, they aren’t streamlined at all.” she shrugged, reaching to grab her shoe and examine it as if wondering how good of a throwing implement it would be, eventually deciding against it and putting it back on.
She looked absolutely dumbstruck as he suggested that she go shoe shopping, of ALL things, for her job tomorrow. “I get a new shoe reward?” she flailed at him, “I get to go out and look for prettyful shoes for my prettyful dress for the ball?” she looked close to fainting again, and without warning she had squeaked something inaudible (which was probably something like ‘ohmygoshwow!’) and threw her arms around Kevay, obviously having forgotten that she’d been very close to passing out just a few moments before. “Thank you thank you thank you!” she cheered.

"Hmmm, maybe my Prince Charming methods aren't really very conventional..." He murmured, seeming thoughtful as he rubbed at the side of his head. "Oh well, I like breaking the mould. Classical romance is alright, it has it's uses, but you're more likely to sweep someone off their feet by doing something that they're not suspecting...or that they've never seen before." He reasoned with a nod, seeming too caught up with that to notice her reference to what happened the other night. He was in a good mood, he didn't want to ruin that, so he chose just...not to listen to things that he didn't like. "Either way, you have to admit, I am a Prince Charming though." He gave one of his most charming smiles to accompany that statement, Kevay looking every bit the Prince Charming...it was just a shame that this Prince Charming knew nothing about comittment and got kicks out of breaking hearts.
They really were a terrible pair. The two of them could cause endless mischief if they were in the right mood. They just encouraged one another, and neither of them really needed much encouragement. They were both just naturally playful. "Oh! Why did I not notice before, you would make an excellent knight!" He agreed with her with a smirk, "Though...I'm sorry to say burst your bubble, but the sword would probably be bigger than you are." He teased lightly, unable to imagine that Lexie would even be able to pick up a broad sword. Heck, he probably couldn't pick up a broad sword. That didn't matter though, Kevay was a lover, not a fighter.
"Shoes are vicious." He sighed, looking down at her shoe to eye it suspiciously, as though he suddenly expected it to jump up and bite him. "You will have to make do with throwing your shoes at me, because I'm not going to get you anything that's better for throwing...and if you carried stones in your pockets you'd weigh yourself down." He winked, looking ready to dive out of the way incase she threw the shoe at him again.
"Shoes, Lexie, you need to buy a pair of shoes. If you just buy one I will be very upset with you." He could just see her coming back with a single shoe. That would be a nightmare for him. He couldn't allow her to ruin the pretty dress that he was making her by her wearing just one shoe. "And I will give you enough to get silk shoes with diamons on if that's what you really want...though I'd prefer that you chose some which were a little more affordable." He grinned, stumbling back as she suddenly attacked him with a hug, looking worried that he would get a smack for this. "It's alright, Lexie, I can't have to looking anything less than perfect at this ball." He winked as he put his arms around her.

“Are you suuuuuuuure I couldn’t just bring you back the one shoe? What if there isn’t time to make another one?” she giggled to him playfully, shrugging as if to say it wasn’t her fault if the peddler only had time to make her one of the pair of shoes. She could hop around the ball? It would be just like Lexie to pretend to have only been made a single shoe, just to see Kevay’s reaction. ‘Very upset’ might not even come into it, she’d bet he would be too dumbstruck for a few moments even to react. “Awh, fine. I guess I could get two shoes… considering… you know, I have two legs.” She shrugged to him regretfully as though he was making her do something she didn’t really want to do. “Ooooh, diamonds and silk, huh?” she beamed, pouting as he realised that this was beyond his price range; it would probably be beyond his price range if Lexie added her own money to it as well. Silly, expensive shoes.
“I suppose I will have to choose some shoes that are less abhorrently expensive.” She told him with a sigh, giggling to herself and looking rather dazed and star-struck as she looked up at him, smirking as he put his arms around her. “You want me perfect?” she asked, tilting her head before her gaze suddenly cleared, and she poked him in the ribs. “You just don’t know when to stop, do you Kevay.” She teased; although rather dazed she certainly wasn’t falling head over heels for the whole Prince Charming thing. Lexie really must be broken or something. Maybe it was because her brother had let her fall off her horse when she was little and she hit her head? Maybe that had screwed her up so she wasn’t turned into girly goo whenever Kevay so much as smiled at her. Sure, the butterflies were always there, fluttering around in her stomach like annoying insects of doom, but it was nothing that she couldn’t handle. He’d just… better not kiss her again.
“Anyway,” she murmured, having recovered from her excitement about new shoes enough to let him go; okay, maybe she was just as excited, now she just wanted it to be morning, “I’m gonna get some sleep, alright?” she told him, stepping back and stretching before taking her shoes off and clambering onto her bed. “I don’t want to look all tired and bleh for the ball tomorrow, do I? Not when you wanted me to look so perfect.” She giggled to herself again, before settling down on top of the covers to watch him. “Are you going to carry on working now? I can pull the blankets over my head when I go to sleep if you don’t want me to see.” She suggested with a grin.
