Guilds of Syrunn
Scattered across the vast lands of Syrunn are orders and guilds of people with similar morals, or codes. Such guilds exist with individual purposes, whether the purposes are malicious, benevolent or self-serving. All such guilds found within Syrunn are listed below.
Each guild is labeled with an alignment, should you make any characters to join a guild, please be sure to specify the alignment of the guild for your character.
[Neutral Evil], [Chaotic Evil], [Lawful Evil]
[Neutral], [Chaotic Neutral], [Lawful Neutral]
[Neutral Good], [Chaotic Good], [Lawful Good]
[Neutral Evil] Cult of Umbra - A cult specifically dedicated to worshiping Umbra and everything the Harbinger of Chaos and Destruction, the self proclaimed GodKing of Demons stood for. Fighting against good, the cult of followers has been working to free Umbra from his bindings within Oblivion.
[Chaotic Neutral] Kalt Nótt - A guild of thieves, with a neutral, self-serving agenda. With headquarters in Cressa, the capital of Avalas, the guild has risen to infamy, known for getting into the pockets of any and all citizens possible. This guild is lead by the enigmatic wood elf known only as Lady. While the guild is primarily present in Avalas of Demia. There are several branches located in smaller villages and towns scattered throughout the lands of Avalas.
[Lawful Good] Niobara[/b] - A guild of warriors who wage a secret war against the forces of darkness. Made up of a handful of the elite, noble families of Hagakarin, the Niobara hunt monsters; vampires, demons, werewolves and anything dark and dangerous. They follow strict codes of honour and secrecy, new members rarely being admitted into their folds. You were born into the guild and trained from an early age.
[True Neutral] Ordinis Magicam - A wide-spanning organization primarily concerned with the study and advancement of all things arcane. The order is centuries old, originally founded by the magic departments of Syrunn's Four Great Schools: Occacus Academy, A.R.U.M.S, Collège de Sorbonne, and Nanjing University. As such, it has four main branches, and various sub-branches. Overall, it is governed by a council of arch-mages, on which sits at least one representative from each school at any given time. This being said, not all of the council members are affiliated with the schools. Though many of the order's members are, or were, students of one of the schools, many others had no previous affiliation to the schools. The order maintains close ties with the schools, but has over the years grown into a semi-distinct entity.
The order's headquarters is located near the Occacus Academy, but important chapter-houses can be found at the other three schools, and smaller chapter-houses in most major cities throughout the respective countries each school is located (Occacus = Eria, A.R.UM.S. = Avalas, Sorbonne = Écritêtre, and Ninjing = Ri Yan). Members use magic to communicate amongst one another, and most chapter-houses are linked by a network of portals. Members may use this network freely, but outsiders are generally barred without a member to escort them.
Ordinis Magicam has built up an extensive collection of lore and magical artifacts over the years, spread across its many chapter-houses. Members in good standing may temporarily borrow these items, depending on the nature of the item, the rank of the member, and their purpose for making the request. They also have contacts with many merchants, and can help its members acquire rare or expensive spell components.
Although they keep themselves well informed, the order generally takes a neutral stance in regards to politics and secular affairs, unless their own safety is threatened. They are more focused inward, largely concerned with the study and research of magic for its own sake, or the individual goals of members. Most members hold that magic is neither wholly Good nor Evil, neither is it inherently Lawful or Chaotic, but instead comes in a great many forms. Thus, so long as they are not of an Evil alignment, the order does not discriminate, and accepts magic-users of almost any alignment, race, or outlook. Of course, they must actively contribute to the order's ever growing store of magical knowledge. The order does not tolerate those who intend to simply sponge off its resources.
[Chaotic Neutral] Wotsits and DooDaas - A guild for tinkers, inventors and lovers of Lost Technology! Located in a hidden series of meandering underground chambers in the Grand Mountain Range of Märmosia, and headed by the eccentric and somewhat unhinged technopath, Breanna Aeiryca, anyone is welcome to join... providing they have the talent, and whether they can locate the guild's entrance.[/size]
