Sage watched the sky blankly till Demi returned. "Huh? Oh, Ya your right Lucaru" Sage then looked at him as she came back down to earth. Sage took a deep breath at the question.


" Tell you the truth for me it is both a gift and a curse. I'm given weak bones, Horrible sense of when to back down, constantly being chased for my pelt, skin, claws and fangs or for sport. " She said now looking at the floor. " But when you think about it you can move faster, jump higher, better balance, Amazing senses and a good pack family. I had pack, we were well known, Silent Dusk is calling. I ran behind my father and mother they were the leaders the only ones allowed to have 'kids'. I was first born and then my brother few years later. I have a family history with Shadow though" Sage admitted truthfully, for she felt like she could trust Demi with all her secrets.

" But when a good friend of mine wanted to show off he killed a human, a human that turned him down when he was flirting. He was the thread of 3 other young males that were teenagers. The deadly four they called themselves. Humf I say the dumb four. They always thought they were all this and that and said, " We don't needed the pack to hunt". For in Lucaru law, " Hunt with the pack or not at all". " Sage paused and thought then spoke again " I never really liked the hunt but I hunted with my father a lot, it was fun. Then" A cold tear started to form around Sage's eye but she blinked and made it vanish. " Then.. When the foolish gang of teenagers broke the rule and killed the human hunters came after are line. Killing most my pack, including my father and mother. It was that day my powers were at there full and death came a pause as light turned swiftly into the blackness of night. " Pausing again she kept herself from shedding a tear or showing any true pain.

" I lost so much that pained day, the foolish teenager became the new pack leader. Humf, it was death to us all" Sage then turned and looked at the waters. * Why could you not drown me when you had your chance so long ago...?* Sage thought as a flash back of when she fell in the lake.

"Hm. How truly awful." Demi said, balancing catlike on the slippery railing while Sage poured out her life story. He nodded in the right places, his sharp eye not missing the times she tried to hide a tear. "Foolish teenagers, huh? Well, I suppose boys will be boys. It reminds me of a group of teenagers from my old thie- Whoa!"

The inevitable had happened, Demi had lost his balance, and tumbled off of the railing and into the wet ocean with a loud splash. He surfaced seconds later, soaking and spluttering but mostly unhurt, and glanced ruefully back upwards at the ship, his hands reaching through his belt for a tool to use.

Sage then turned her powerful gaze back to Demi. " Yes I guess" But when he fell Sage tried to grab him but she could not, he went to fast. Falling in the water and soaked Sage could not help but let a small giggle come free. " It seems fate either wishes you not to tell me or is trying to cheer me up" Sage gave a warm smile as her eyes regained there zestful spark.

"Both, I think." Demi said, glancing ruefully back up at Sage. "I live to amuse you Sage." he said with a roll of his eyes, but his smile took the sting out of his words. He pulled a kunai knife and a long bit of rope out of his belt pockets, and proceeded to thread the rope through the knife, a task made harder by the rising and falling of the waves. Spinning the kunai, he tossed it high up towards the railing and began to climb the ropes.

"So, uh, Sage?" Demi asked as he scaled up the side of the ship. "Any reason why you're telling me all this? I am one of those hated assassins, remember?"

Sage gave another smile and raised a eye brow. " And amuse me you do" When Demi asked of why she had told him of her life and all she spoke " Because you have earned my trust, Once earned it can be wielded many ways. For I can become a best friend, A dangerous ally or a useful tool. And if your not forgetting I'm of blood that people believe that should not walk this world." Sage was starting to sound like her father as her words came natural and smoothly.

"Most people's beliefs are stupid." Demi said, with an unusual conviction in his voice, although he couldn't keep from thinking that he'd gained the trust of two people that had almost tried to kill him a few days ago. "They're usually forced on them by the government, where the bleating masses accept them without question. They're too close-minded, if you ask me." Demi said.

He heaved harder on the rope and jumped up, somersaulting over the railing and sending sparks of water everywhere. "There's more truth in a book of fairy tales than in what most people believe. After all, the only idiots who say you're not fit to walk on the world are probably the ones who wrote that all werewolves (And Lucaru by association) are evil, which is a total lie."

Sage gave a smile and nodded. " So true at first I didn't believe I was even of any magical blood-line till the faithless day of the hunt of my family. That was the time it was all open to me." Sage perked up slightly at what Demi said in the ending. " Your most likely right" Sage sat down as she looked at her Knee. You could see in her eyes she was cursing her weak bones and ligaments.

"Hm. You know Sage, we're not that different." Demi said with a soft laugh. "We both belonged to a 'pack', and we both have left it. We're both orphans too." he said with a shrug. There was a fleeting emotion in his gaze, it seemed softer somehow, but then the spark reignited in Demi's eyes again.

"'Ay, Li'an!" Demi called, adopting a pirate accent again. "D'you know when we're supposed to set sail again? I've asked you for passage to Demia during the storm, remember?"

Zihark at last finished his wooden weapons. Two elongated kunais, with a ring at the end. Grinning beneath his mask, he stood up. Glancing around, he saw Demi and Sage, both dripping wet. He walked over to them and shrugged. "Why is it that every time I look away for five mere moments, something happens without me noticing?" he thought aloud, a small smile playing about his face as he spun his kunias.

(Sorry I haven't posted in forever. My computer went totally insane on me.)

"I'm not quite sure." Demi replied, the hidden grin returning. "Not quite an admirable trait for an assassin though." He leapt lightly away from Zihark, already drawing a dagger in his left hand while picking up the last of the wood blocks in his other hand. This time he didn't bother with whittling; putting the tip of his dagger to each block of wood, he muttered "Ravec!".

A gust of wind whipped through the immediate area, and with a snap and a crack, pieces of wood fell off, leaving the remnants, two wooden butterfly knifes. "So, I'm guessing you're prepared to embarass yourself?" Demi said teasingly, flipping the knives into his hands.

(Oof, yeah, I've been there before. Not fun.)

Sage smiled and when Zihark reutned her smiel grew bigger and sweeter. " If only your eyes were as big as your history" Sage said as she placed her heands behind her head and just listen to them. When once again they were challenging each other. *Boys..* Sage growled in her mind opening her eyes.
