Li'an sighed, then stood back, leaning on his sword. He was watching Seven carefully...he could see how hard it was for him to try and see what the other was doing. He never had been good at direct fighting. Giving orders, firing cannons...he let Seven do those things simply because they weren't challenging for him. Fighting, on the otherhand, was a whole 'nother ocean.
Seven jumped the kick, and, using Demi's shoulders, leapt up and over him, twisting out of the way of the kunai and striking for his back. His eyes were keenly sharp, concentrating on this fight as hard as he could. Just because he ahd beaten Li'an didn't mean he'd won after all.

Demi blinked for a second, astonished that Seven had somehow managed to dodge the attack. Impossible! That always works! Must be because he's so short. he thought dismissively. That moment of thought cost him, as he felt the wooden tip of the dagger collide with his back. The impact sent a spark of action through Demi's system, using the momentum of the dagger, he managed to slide a good distance away from Seven, ending up next to the stairs leading belowdecks and beside a certain someone.
"Heya Zihark! Erm... I mean Shadow." Demi said, remembering too late that he was pretending that he hadn't heard his conversation with Sage. He crouched low, gripping his kunai in both palms now, this time waiting for Seven to make a move, even going so far as to move his hand in a 'Bring it' gesture. "So, you interested in joining in our little sparring match?" Demi asked out of the corner of his mouth as he waited.

Sage woke slowly, her bones and mussel thanked her with the great feeling of full power. The healer saw her awake and smiled as she told her she better be on her way. Sage nodded her head and tipped a silver coin in pure thanks. Walking back to the ship, with the odd limp. When she got there Sage climbed aboard as she saw Demi, Seven, Li'an , and Zihark on the side lines. Sage smiled as she saw her cousin but when the word Zihark came to her sharp ears, the hairs on her skin raised. She could not really fight till her knee was healed. Sparing a sharp growled of disappointment and slight anger she watched enviously.

Seven wiped his face with his sleeve. Good...He'd hit Demi first. Seven had no counts against him as of yet...and Demi now had one. Whew...that had been...intense. He'd have to remember that move again. It wasn't the first time he'd done it...but he always seemed to have trouble on the landing bit...He started to clsoe in, eyes warily watching te newcomer...if he joined in on this sparring fight things would get complicated again...
He nervously gripped the wooden dagger tighter and advanced with extreme caution, eyes calculating his foe. It was obvious he was taking his time, having horrible trouble focusing.
From nearby Li'an watched, eyes intent on the fight...He was frowning lightly. He didn't want Seven to get defeated...it might damage his reputation...or worse yet, the others feelings. Seven was not a confident person...

Being no fool, Demi was expecting Zihark to launch an attack rather than reply, and as such, his body was tensed to spring away, and yet the attack didn't come. His eye snapped back to Seven, who was taking his time in approaching. Not that confident, eh? he thought, slowly advancing on Seven as well. He had the plan worked out in his head, watching and waiting for that infinitestimal second when Seven was in range.
Finally, one step brought him into range, and he struck like a viper. Leaning forward and crouching down, he swiped his right kunai across Seven's knees, in a move almost identical to his first attack, but with one difference. This time he swung his left Kunai from behind his head down, so that Seven wouldn't be able to repeat the shoulder jumping trick unscathed.

Seven got hit and winced, but rolled to one side, thrusting his dagger toward Demi's ribs, now out of range of the kunai. He was a slow reactor...but he was doing alright now...His mind froze, seemingly unable to think of what to do now, confusion lit his eyes a moment. The confusion, as anyone could see, was rather...unnatural. His mind ahd clenched up in a way.
This is what Li'an had feared...Seven /never/ got into a fight if he could help it...and this...this was why. He could never make more than two moves before he seemingly had no idea waht to do.

Demi watched his kunai swipe across Seven's legs with a feeling of triumph, and then Seven rolled out of the way, taking a chance at a stab in passing. Demi flinched violently, his feet even leaving the ground, and by pure chance, Seven's thrust had missed.
Of course, that didn't console Demi much as the deck rushed up at him for the third time in his memory. He flung an arm out and performed a rough tumble across the deck, the wood clunking as he rolled across. Demi picked himself up, slightly bruised, and turned a bemused glance upon Seven, who seemed to have somehow reached a mental block.
"Hello? Seven?" Demi called, waving his arms in a rather foolish gesture. A gull cawed overhead, perhaps to laugh at this scene. Well. This one's definitely interesting. Sneaky and slow. Wouldn't be fair to hit him now... Demi thought, and resorted to one of his old tricks. "Hiya Sage! Glad you could make it back in time. How's your knee?" Demi asked brightly, suddenly seeming to forget about the fact that he was in a battle.

Sage looked at Demi slightly confused them caught on " Bin better and bin worst. It appears that my ligaments are loose and the Knee cp keeps popping out of place,” Sage said, you could tell she was not happy she couldn't fight. Sage loved action and the thrill of chase and attack. But if Sage tried anything with her knee the way it is she would most likely do some manger damage.

Seven scowled...he stood, he couldn't finish this...He left, going to his own quarters below deck, frustrated with himself...disappointed that he couldn't have done better...He'd trained for this sort of thing! Why ahd he stopped in the middle!?
"T'ank ya." Li'en said, looking to Demi. He was glad the other had stopped attacking...it would have been bad if the fight had continued...Seven would have absolutely lost it.

"No need to thank me." Demi said, turning around and giving Li'an a wink. "It was your first mate that saved himself by not attacking back. He's a smart person. A little slow, but smart." Demi said with a nod. It was true, Demi often pretended to lose focus in battle, before suddenly striking out at an unsuspecting opponent. Giving up was a smart decision.
"Interesting person to make your first mate though." Demi said, tossing his kunai lightly towards Li'an. They landed by Li'an's feet with a soft clunk, the second one bouncing slightly. "Tricky, determined, slightly insane... well we're all slightly insane, aren't we?" Demi asked with a soft laugh. "You can keep those by the way, I've got my own." he added, going to sit on the railing next to Sage. "How much longer do you think you've got to favor that knee?" Demi asked casually.

Li'an was looking at Demi now, his gaze rather hardened. "'E didn' attack ba'k 'cause 'e didn' know 'ow." He said simply. He didn't like having to explain Seven...The poor man just...didn't have it in him. "'E's a goo' man...bu'...'e's no' all there." He said, tapping his head slightly. He was worried for Seven. He generally wouldn't storm off...
"'E does 'ell...wit ordehs an' such. 'E ain' stupid." He scratched his chin slightly, picking up the kunai and examining them. "In tru'h tha's the fir't time I've 'een 'im fi'ht in a 'ong time."

Sage watched as Demi came to the rail and asked her about her knee " Two days at the least. I can't keep staining the ligaments. For one of these days they will snap and my leg will be 100% useless" You could see the slight fear and uncomforted of the fate that it may happen. But sage then simple smiled slightly and said " But I will not let that happen "

"Hm. Well, as it seems that our very presence invites and attracts trouble, that might be difficult." Demi replied to Sage half-jokingly. He stretched out on the railing, regarding Li'an with a half closed eye as the captain explained Seven to him. "Ah, I see. Still, that's a strong showing of determination, and he did a great job until then; I don't think anyone's dodged my sweep combo before." Demi said, slipping off of the railing and glancing wistfully at the door that lead to the belowdecks. "Don't suppose there's any chance of cheering him up, eh?"

"Hmmm....na realleh...'e's upse' abou' freesin' li'e 'e did...'e tries 'ard 'e does." Li'an managed. "'E ge's 'rustra'ed when 'e freezes up." He was now leaning agaisnt te main mast, his eyes out on the clouds. "'E'll beh fine though."

"Alright then. I'll just leave him be, no sense putting salt in the wound." Demi said with a sage nod, walking towards the exact center of the ship. "Oi! Zih- Shadow! Where's that guy gone off to..." Demi muttered, revolving on the spot. "Vanished again. I don't think I'm ever gonna get my gunpowder back at this rate." he muttered to himself, as he stepped back to the railing. "So, Lucaru, right?" Demi asked Sage. "You're the first Lucaru I've ever run into, Sage. What's it like?" Demi asked curiously, balancing on the rail.
