With 450 Turns of Thread-free skies before them, the Pernese naturally expanded. The Southern Continent was a known commodity, sparsely settled but already explored. Sights turned east and west, finally settling on the Western Continent. Though its cold, hard winters made it unsavory to some, it quickly became home to others.
Within a generation, Stormwatch Weyr and Seahold had been founded - a unique coupling of Weyr and Hold so closely related geographically that it naturally behooved them to work together far more than traditional Holds and Weyrs. The Western Continent flourished over the Turns, seeing more Holds and dedicated Crafthalls spring up.
By the time the Tenth Pass began, the Western and Southern Continents were not only self-sufficient, but their industry and capabilities rivaled if not eclipsed those of the Northern Continent. Now, in addition to fighting Thread, the people of Pern fight their own internal resentments, they fight hidebound traditions, and they fight to understand how to establish not just a Continent but a world that survives the Pass.
Set in the Tenth Pass in an AU-timeline where AIVAS was found but damaged, our setting is the Western Continent of Pern, specifically at Stormwatch Weyr and Seahold. The proximity of our two major locations allows for easy roleplay between denizens of Hold and Weyr, providing more slices of life to sample - including a bustling port, a sometimes-seedy traders' square, and a vast landscape of surrounding territory. Our plots will range from sweeping political debacles involving the prominence of the Western and Southern Continents to the hardships wrought by Stormwatch's climate to small-scale stories, leaving openings for anyone who wants to get involved.
Stormwatch offers only the canon colors of dragons with loosened restrictions on sexuality and gender when it comes to Impressions. Just now celebrating our grand opening, we have room for nearly every type of character - from the Senior Weyrwoman to Candidates - and we'd love to have you (yes, YOU!) come join us to help shape the story.
