Out of Character:
Name: ink <3

In Character:
Name: Princess Aurora Nightow of Avalas
Aliases: Her brothers call her Rory, though her father opted for the glaringly unoriginal yet still rather sweet ‘Princess’.
Age: 18
Race: Human
Gender: Female
Occupation/Class: Princess of Avalas
Orientation: Heterosexual
Physical Description: When you think Princess what do you see? The pretty little doe eyed damsel in distress just waiting to be saved? Well, Rory is all of that, without the damsel and the saving. Blonde and delicate and perfect; well, not so much the perfect any more. Imprisonment had stolen the light from her hair and the colour from her cheeks. Aurora wasn’t built for captivity and her new cage was smaller than the last; it just didn’t agree with her. All the life seemed to have drained from her bluebell coloured eyes and they were ringed with heavy shadows. She was like a broken doll.
Honestly, Aurora had been beautiful once upon a time. You could still see it now if you squinted a little and erased the sorrow which had been etched into her features. Rumours of her beauty had been whispered throughout the Kingdom, but she barely remembered that girl now. She was the shade of the Princess and on most days it looks as though a strong breeze could blow her away. At a mere 5’’6 and naturally slender, it hadn’t taken a massive loss of weight for her to look gaunt. From ground level you would be mistaken for thinking that it was a ghost and not a real girl sat in that tower window.
Played by Taylor Swift
Personality Description: Aurora is much more than met the eye. On the surface she is everything that she’s meant to be; poised, eloquent, polite and cheerful. She just also happens to be intelligent, head strong, free spirited and a hopeless dreamer. She wanted to see the world, to be swept off her feet and fall in love, she wanted to have adventures and explore and she wants it all even more now that she’d had a taste of the world. Brief experience had taught her that the world wasn’t full of heroes and that there was much more bad in the world than she would like to admit, but she would rather be a part of it than watch everything pass her by from her tower. After all, she only needed one hero.
The Princess actually proved to be pretty formidable when pushed. Cool headed in a crisis and resourceful, Rory had been known to figure out a way out of more than one crisis. She may look delicate, but she had a core of steel; she must have because she’d stitched a man up, she’d snuck into the palace to steal medicine and she had found a way to bust a certain thief out of prison.
When it came down to it, Rory is just a good person. After everything she still believes that everyone had some good in them if you looked hard enough and that, through thick and thin, everyone had a happily ever after waiting for them. Clinging onto the hope of her own happily ever after, however, became harder and harder by the day.
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Likes: Travelling, adventure, books, freedom, art, people (and in particular a certain red haired thief who shall remain nameless), wooden roses…
Dislikes: Arguments, gossip, pain (she has a very low pain barrier), dirt, the dark, prisons…
History: Phoenix Garcia came along and flipped her whole life on its head. Running away from the palace hadn’t been one of her best laid plans and if she hadn’t run into the thief she would have been returned to the palace before morning or, worse, found by the wrong person. Having four elder brothers meant that Rory only had a slim chance of ever getting the throne, but that didn't make her any less important. She was the youngest of the reigning monarch’s children and the only girl, which seemed to have turned her into some sort of prize in the eyes of the nobility. Rory wasn’t going to be a trophy wife.
Aurora and palace life had never really got along. She was too free spirited to fall into line and the gossip had never sat easily with her. While other ladies were swooning over the newest rich lord to come to court Rory was busy learning languages, pouring over the map or had her nose buried in a book. Loneliness was her best friend, and the less said about Christopher Reich the better. She lived in a gilded cage and she was just waiting for an excuse to escape.
The excuse came with the announcement of her engagement and it was all much easier than she had been expecting. Avoid the guards, over the wall, through the richer quarters and to freedom. Where freedom was and just how it would keep her warm and fed was undefined, or it was until she bumped into Phoenix.
From there her life was a whirlwind. From the slums of Cressa to the Claustrum and even out beyond the borders of Avalas into Ecritetre, in the time she spent with Phoenix she saw more and learnt more than she had in the rest of her life. It couldn’t last though and a rather despicable act of backstabbing brought her crashing back to earth with a bump. She was caught, returned to her father and shipped off to a secret location to keep her out of trouble while her father could decide what to do with her. He was furious and she was an embarrassment, but all the pleading in the world couldn't get her out of this one. Worst of all? She was alone again.
So there she was, locked in a tower like all those Princesses in the stories with no other choice but to wait for her Prince Charming to ride up and save her and nothing but books to keep her company. Even she was running out of hope.
Strengths: Good in a crisis, Rory is quick thinking, logical, resourceful and cool. Looking back she could barely believe the things she had done and the situations she had dealt with, but in the moment she didn't have the time to doubt herself. She has a long fuse, but when you irritated her you would do well to stand back and prepare yourself. While she may not be violent she can pull rank and give someone a good verbal dressing down when they needed it. Not that it was something she liked to do. It wasn't as though she liked to pull the ‘I’m smarter than you so sit down and shut up’ card.
During her imprisonment Rory has also built up quite the medical knowledge; she already had experience of stitching someone up and she was sure it would be a handy skill to have when she burst free. She didn't want everyone to think that she was just a pretty face.
Weaknesses: Aurora hit like a girl. In fact, she hasn't ever hit anyone in her life. Without protection she is totally vulnerable, and her trusting nature didn't really help with this. Smart as she is, her naivety makes her easy to manipulate, and she has very few survival skills to draw on. Alone there is no chance that she would be able to last out in the big wide world all alone.
Magic: Like every member of the Avalan royalty she was blessed with a gift from the Elves at birth. Hers was the gift of light, or rather light manipulation. She could conjure and shape light at will, able to vary the brightness from subtle glows right up to light so bright that it would burn a man’s eyes out. It was a defensive gift mainly, and not something which was common knowledge. It was also the reason that she was terrified of the dark.
Weapons/Armour/Equipment: None. Rory can’t fight so she doesn't wear any sort of armour or carry any sort of weapon. If you carried a dagger you had to be prepared to use it and that wasn't something that she was comfortable with.
