This'll be my first year participating. I signed up last year and once when I was a teenager, but didn't actually commit. xD That's just like me, isn't it?
I'm way behind in word count. I keep getting distracted. >.> But I can say that I'm honestly trying this year, at least, and even if I don't finish this novel in the timeframe it will, eventually, be finished.
What about you guys? Have you ever participated? Are you participating this year? What's your genre?

Sadly, I am not participating, due to uni, keeping up my household and you know mah forum duties. xD But, my cousin Sarah is as well as a bunch of people I know. So I am rooting on the sidelines for people who are doing NaNo.
How is yours coming? Aside from lack of word count, anyways. Do you like where your story is heading? :3

I am rooting for you all the way in this Chanilove! I only did NaNo once, and that was last year, and we all know how that ended, 83,000 sprawling words later.
Honestly, it was one of the most enjoyable and stressful things I've ever done, but seeing that wordcount climb is incredible. Just keep your fingers moving and push the editing monkey off its annoying pedestal, and you should be just fine. :3
Much much luck! <3 I think you'll do great!
(For the record my genre was steampunk, and steampunk is difficult. e.e)

Yeah but you did awesome Chi. I remember that. It...was pretty interesting lol. That was the month I had off from work for a leave of absence, so I was around quite a bit. XD
I think it's really great for people to do this. I haven't done it, I'm sure when I'm finished with uni, I'll do it at least once. It's pretty challenging. So be proud of all the words, even if it's not the recommended amount, that you get onto the paper.

Haven't tried it myself either. I was almost gonna last year, but then there was that freak Halloween nor'easter leaving us without power, and then a dang hurricane this year. Haa...
But anywho, good luck to you, Chani! Your story seems really cool from what I've heard so far.
And steampunk ftw. I enjoyed On the Run.

(For the record my genre was steampunk, and steampunk is difficult. e.e) I get the stressful bit. I'll let you know if and when it becomes enjoyable. ;_; Though I presume I'd be having much more fun if my word count was substantially higher and I felt like all this work was actually worth something. Just gotta keep pushing, I guess. I've wanted to give up at least 10 times so far. If it wasn't for you... How is yours coming? Aside from lack of word count, anyways. Do you like where your story is heading? :3 1,000 words ago I knew where my story was heading. Ideas just kept popping up, though, and now I have no sense of direction. This is not the story described in my outlines at all. xD We'll have to see where it goes, because I have no idea anymore!

The hardest part for people is just doing it. We always find ways to not do something, especially when it comes to writing. So even if you're maybe not where you'd like to be with your NaNo writing, at least you're doing it. That's definitely something to be proud of. :3
