Physical Description:
Aran is the picture of a winters night incarnate her raven hair is cut a sever bob but spikes sticking up and into her face, with her pointed ears peaking from her spikes. Her pale, marble like skin seems to glow in the moonlight and grants her an ethereal, ghostly quality, contrasting with her hair. Her slanted eyes glow a piercing white-blue of a winter morning beneath her dark, upturned eyebrows. She has a thin but powerful physique with no curves to speak of, giving her a long-willowy profile. She walks with the ethereal grace present in the majority of the elven folk, like a dark goddess walking the earth. Aran favours darker colours in her clothing, particularly dark blues, mauves and blacks. Unless she is out in the field when she wears colours fitting the environment. She stands at 5' 5" with the hilt of her unique elven longblade, made of an enchanted steel that almost looks like a shard of ice, rising over her shoulder alongside the tip of her short bow and her quiver is offset by a long-bladed hunting knife.
Uriel is the complete polar opposite to his sister. He is the epitome of easy spring days and basking in the summer sun. His golden blonde hair hangs in straight glowing strands to his shoulders, two braids start at his temples and are tied at the back of his head with a green leather thong, holding the rest of his hair back, the tips of his ears rising from his golden hair. His slightly bronzed skin compliments his slanted emerald green eyes. His physique is similar to that of his sister but he stands at taller 5' 10" and has slightly wider shoulders. Uriel favours greens, browns and reds in his clothing when he is not in the field. Uriel' elven composite longbow rises over his shoulder made from a unique green wood with a vine pattern carved into the stave. alongside his quiver of arrows, the elven shortblade hanging from his waist is offset by a twin of the curved long-bladed hunting knife that his sister carries.
Personality Description:
Aran is like her appearance and the blade of her sword, often cold, aloof and sharp of tongue and temper. Many people find her both rude and ignorant. However, when her brother is with her, she does come out of her shell more, dealing with the social boredom for her brothers sake. When she is Uriel she is actually quite charming, quick with a laugh and is willing to open up. Otherwise, few people can engage her is polite conversation. She prefers to be blunt and to the point. Whats the point of the Hello's, how are you's and how's your daughter doing, when neither party really cares for the answer or eachother, more often than not. When training or fighting, Aran is a as focused as an elf can be, she will deal with the situation professionally and without hesitation or remorse. She does what needs to be done, and that needs no excuses.
Uriel, on the other hand, is, again, the polar opposite of his sister. Where his sister is cold and aloof, Uriel is warm and friendly, enjoying the company of other people. He is fun-loving and loveable, quick with a joke and anecdote and is quite the charmer, or so the ladies think so. This is not to say, however, that Uriel is not as focused as his sister. He is, when in the heat of battle, pulling the forces of magic from the air, he has no choice, you focus or you burn yourself to a cinder. He is also willing to use his natural charm to achieve the desired results, be it reconnaisance or getting a required item.
Alignment:
Aran – Chaotic Neutral
Uriel – Chaotic Good
History:
Legend tells of a great elven sorceress, Aranuriel Islanzadi, second only in power to Arianna, Fairy Queen. One day, during the autumnal fall on Win Dain Island, Aranuriel saw a vision of a sun and a moon aligning in the sky and merging as one. They then fell and were absorbed by the forest only to rise as a sun and moon once more. That evening, she ventured into the darkest part of the forest, where the trees may even be older than Arianna, whose power, though immense, holds little sway in this ancient area where the air is close and the trees whisper. She was never seen again, much to the despair of the elven nation.
Centuries later, twin-siblings emerged from the forest fully armed and armored. One carrying a sword seemingly made of ice and the other a longbow made of a green wood never seen before. Since their emergence, thay have needed no tuition and are as knowledgable of the lessons as if they had been raised alongside other elves. t=They have been welcomed into the elven court and raised to advisors through acts of bravery repelling intruders to their island. They are part of the reason people believe that the island is cursed, the ranger teams eradicate threats before the intruders even know they are there.
Likes:
Aran: Her sword, Her brother, Other elves, trees, animals (Horses in particular), cold weather, sparring, blowing glass.
Uriel: His bow, His sister, socialising, flirting with women, Summer, flowers (in a manly way, obviously), dancing and singing, politicking.
Dislikes:
Aran: The girls Uriel flirts with, other races, wimpy women, cities, men attempting to flirt with her, dishonesty
Uriel: Boring people, men trying to flirt with his sister, ‘manly’ men.
Strengths:
Aran: Swordsmanship, Excellent Tactician, Focused, Determined
Uriel: Magic, Archery, Persuasive, Charismatic, Attractive
Weaknesses:
Lack of considerabe protective clothing (both siblings)
Aran's weakness shows itself moreso in social situations, she has no idea of polite conversation and is often blunt and sometimes offensive. She only has her brother who she can really call a friend. Aran also has very little magical defense, most elves have a natural affinity for magic and now a few simple spells, however, Aran seems to have know magical talent other than her increase physical characteristics. Aran is also atrocious is social situations, particularly with those from other races.
Uriel will be bested easily should his opponents close on him and his magic has run dry, he has the ability to look after himself in the wild due to the education that most elves recieve however, he doesn't excel like his sister and so mistake a deadly nightshade for an elderberry. Obviously, his focus on magic has made him neglect more martial practice and so his strength and stamina isn't as good as others. The lack of armor also puts him at a disadvantage. Though he is a mage of considerable power, even among the naturally magical elves, Uriel has not focuse on any particular school of magic, he is a generalist and so may not have the expertise that a specialist may have.
The twins have a symbiotic relationship, if the one is hurt, the other feels it. In the heat of battle they have learnt to ignore minor injuries, however, broken bones result in numb limbs, unconsciousness with severe vertigo and death with death.
Weapons/Armor/Magic:
Like the majority of elves, Aran and Uriel are profficient in both the bow and sword but Aran favours the swords opposed to Uriel, who favours the bow and magic. Aran shows little of the magical talent of their progeny, however, Uriel has exemplary magical skill and is an accomplished wizard and arcane archer. Aran's share of their progeny's magic seems to have been seated in her physicality, she is able to move faster, is more agile and stronger than even her elven brethren and her brother.
Aran excels at the graceful, dancelike movements of the elven longblade, she is also proficient in hand-to-hand combat. She has knowledge of the use of various herbs for medicinal use and poisons. She is also an excellent tactician and a passable archer.
Uriel excels in magic and archery and the combination of the two, he is a passable swordsman but is nowhere near the proficiency of an advanced swordsman. He is an excellent politician and has a knack for using his naturally sunny charisma into charming people, particularly the ladies, into agreeing with him.
Both Aran and Uriel wear very little armor, prefering the subtler protection and increased maneuvaribility afforded by leather.
