Breanna did actually seem to be getting a little irritable with the lightning rod, fiddling with it and becoming agitated when it refused to stay up. Eventually she sighed and nodded over to Kamui, completely oblivious that standing on a roof in the middle of a storm with a long metal rod was a particularly good way to get yourself electrocuted. "<Could ya hold the base still for me? I can't get it to attach properly.>" she huffed.
((It would be particularly awesome... especially considering that I'm pretty sure Breanna doesn't know how to fly a plane. So landing would be a lot of fun.))

"<Maybe this'll help?>" He said, erecting a quick Ki barrier above their heads, blocking the rain and some of the wind. It was bluish-white, translucent and shimmering faintly. "<Now about the base...>" He moved closer to her in order to get a fix on the rod's base, holding it secure.
(I envision them getting shot down by the guards stationed on the walls around the city... which would only add to the fun of them trying to land, in my opinion.)
(Edit: Wow. That last sentence actually seems a bit dirty...)

((I envision this plane having no wings by the time it actually lands. XD
...And I didn't even think of it being dirty until you said it. Now it won't go away, ha!))
For a moment or two Breanna seemed to have forgotten all about the reason why they were on the rickety roof, the Gnome tilting her head curiously up at the Ki barrier. "<Very clever. What invention let's you do that, might I ask?>" she enquired, brought back to reality as he steadied the base for her. Eventually she got the lightning rod standing upright, without toppling (and without electrocuting them both), standing back triumphantly. "<Huzzah!>"

"<Oh, no invention.>" He said. "<I call it Ki, but others call it 'spirit energy'. It's not quite the same, but ya' can think of it as akin ta' magic.>" He looked up at the dark sky. "<What say we get off this roof?>"
(Heh. No wings...)

"<Spirit energy, huh...?>" Breanna seemed a little skeptical to say the least, giving him a disbelieving look even through the thunderstorm, before she eventually shrugged. "<Alright. I'll think of it as magic. Seems a lot easier, if ye ask me.>" she nodded, turning to look up at the lightning rod, stepping back from it.
"<Yeah. Might be a good idea.>" she agreed, about to turn away when the white hot lightning streaked across the sky, and crackled down onto the rod, making the entire structure of the farmhouse tremble and shake. "<...Ah, that can't be good.>"

"Whoa." Kamui said pretty calmly, considering lighting had just struck in their immediate vicinity. Then the creaking building they were on suddenly lit up like a Christmas tree with a loud crashing noise. "Uhh... what was that?"

Breanna tilted her head at the sound of the crashing over the roaring wind, ignoring the smoking lightning rod as though it wasn't even there any more. "<I... oh, no! It was my flying machine!>" she realised all at once, rushing acoss the roof to clamber back down again. "<Aaaah, I hope it hasn't gotten broken.>" she was grumbling to herself.

Kamui merely leapt from the roof, landing gracefully in front of the barn doors. "Hey, Sak. Yib. Ya' guys all right? Ooo..." His companions came to meet him at the door as Kamui stood, transfixed by the glowing orbs.

"Ahh!" Breanna had just reached the barn doors when Kamui landed next to her, jumping back a little. She tilted her head up to look towards the roof again. "...<Interestin'. Your legs aren't broken. You're jus' full of surprises, ain't ya?>" she smirked, peering into the barn after him and practically squealing with glee.
The orbs on the sides of the barn were glowing brightly and the aeroplane, while still looking delicate and rickety, had not broken as it freed itself from its strings and crashed to the floor. It too was glowing faintly in places, and the Gnome rushed into the barn, dripping water everywhere. "<Success!!>"

"Nope, no broken legs at the moment. I'm pretty good at landin'... So, what's the next step?" He asked, eyeing the orbs and flying machine.
(Oh, curse me and these short replies!)

"<I honestly don't know!!>" she shouted gleefully, flitting around the machine and pulling a wrench from her tool-belt, tapping it here and there as it glowed. Eventually the glow from the orbs around the walls died down, but the aura from the machine remained. "<Never expected this to ever actually work. Can 'ya help me straighten it up?>" she asked, leaning down to try and heave the machine (which was slightly lopsided) into an upright position.

He watched the Gnome in amusement as she fiddled about the machine. "Of course." He said, and helped her to heave the plane into an upright position. "Ya' know, maybe we should figure out how it works, if ya' don't already know."

"<I've looked at it a couple o' times, but I couldn't make any solid ideas on how it worked until I could jump-start it to turn it on.>" she admitted, sounding strangely lucid by this point and grinning to him brightly as he helped her straighten up the plane, disappearing suddenly to go and find metal stands to prevent it toppling over again as she looked at it. She returned a few minutes later, dragging the heavy stands with her and beginning to prop them up around the machine, eventually straightening up and standing back. "<I'll need to patch it up a little... but I think she'll fly, what you reckon?>" she asked.
((I am going to have to research about how planes fly. XD))

"<Um... I reckon so?>" He said, scratching his head with his tail. "<I'm no expert in machines. That said, is there anything I can do ta' help patch it up?" Or should I just sit back and watch the master at work?>
(Heh. Have fun with that.)

"<Of course, the more help the better. I dunno what I'm doin' with this thing half the time either.>" Breanna shrugged, moving to take a wrench from her toolbelt and lean over to hand it to him. "<If ya see anythin' that looks particularly... broken, let me know.>" she mumbled to him, before leaning down once more.
