"Je peut parler une autre langue." She told him rather haughtily, nodding to him as she grinned, hoping that she would surprise him. No, she had no idea what this other language was or where she had learnt it, but she knew it and that was the main thing. She couldn't always form full sentences and struggled for some words, but she would be able to get by speaking that language, whatever it was. "Hummm, I can try it and see how it looks, right?" She nodded to him, also seeming to understand that they shouldn't waste the coat, "We could sell it though...or force someone to buy it from you." She added in cheerfully.
"I'll be waiting for something amazing." She nodded to him, "Just make sure that I don't get burnt, your fire hurts you know." She pouted to him as she brushed her hair back from her face. Her feet pattered over the ground as she hurried after him, surprisingly light footed even when wearing such heavy boots; she was just a naturally gracefully little creature. "We should give them something to remember, something so that their children's grandchildren are still terrified of your name." She smiled to him, rather enjoying that idea.

Yes, he did seem rather stumped by that, and that little expression of surprise on his face simply didn't suit him at all. He quickly fixed it, his mask of indifference back on in just a few seconds. "You're just full of surprises, aren't you?" he smirked as they drew closer to the town hall, the cloak flaring out at his heels. "I think the cloak would suit you - it contrasts your hair, so you wouldn't look as cold as I do." he wrinkled his nose at the dark material, unable to wait until he could take it off and be himself again.
"You won't get burned, there will be little fire in today's show. There will be BURNING, but I won't be burning the people, so there's nothing to worry about in that respect." he nodded lightly, one hand snaking to rest on Amor, as though out of habit to check she was still there. He ground to a halt outside of a large white building - probably the largest building in town. Several groups of people were gathered outside of it, talking or arguing or simply milling around or begging for food. "It will be something to remember. Something so grand they won't be able to forget it..." he laughed to himself.

She seemed proud that she had managed to surprise him, nodding to him happily, seeming to have forgotten that they were about to go make a massacre out of this town as her mood became undoubtedly cheerful once again, even though they were surrounded by so many people. "Ohhh, that's why it doesn't suit you...you should have made him make you a red cloak, that would have suited you much more." She nodded to him, still holding onto the back of his cloak to make sure she didn't loose him. "You look as if all the rain washed the colour out of all of you except your eyes." She giggled a little at that comment, wondering if the rain could actually do that if you stood out in it for too long.
The shifter moved around to stand next to him as he stopped, gazing up at the white building with a look of distaste on her features. "It's an ugly building, isn't it?" She commented as she ran her fingers through her hair, then turning her gaze back up to Vyncent. "Will you make sure we don't leave my clothes? Or I'll have to steal your coat again and you'll need to buy me more clothes." She pointed out as she smoothed out her coat. "And I like these clothes, they are pretty and new and they still smell pretty nice." She explained to him, huffing a little at the thought of losing these clothes.

"Yes, but a red cloak isn't really as inconspicuous as this one. If I had a red cloak, I may as well just be wearing my coat anyway." he shrugged, striding straight through the groups of people despite the calls of outrage that they received. Psht, did Vyncent give a damn about other peoples' affairs? Not in the slightest. He paused again once they had reached the steps up to the white building, wrinkling his nose in disgust. The people had stopped shouting out now, having realised this wasn't someone they wanted to be near. A few children even threw Evelyn a pitying look, as though sorry that she had to stay around such a man.
"It is an ugly building," he agreed, eyes glinting with distaste, "I can smell the rotten justice from here. There aren't even any corrupt law-abiders in there. What's the point?" he lifted a brow, able to hear the mutter of voices within the building, narrowing his eyes. "I think the people we are looking for are in there at the moment." he told her, lowering his voice, "There's a larger group of them now though... they're going to set back out to look for us in an hour or so and-- oh, brilliant. They've got that silver chain." he hid the growl of annoyance under his breath, straightening up again to stare at the building. "And a collar of some sort... I can smell the silver on it."

"Blending in is for mortals." She nodded, sounding oddly like him for a moment then before she shook her head, as if to get him out of there. Ugh, she was spending too much time with the demon. She held onto the back of his cloak again as she followed him up the steps, grinning to the annoyed people rather innocently, eyes flickering to those catlike pupils just long enough to leave a shocked expression on their faces as she turned back to look at Vyncent's back. Oh how she enjoyed scaring people, it was almost as fun as killing them. "I don't think marching up the steps is good for being inconspicuous." She murmured to him with a small laugh, again moving to stand by him, releasing his cloak.
Her hand shot to her neck at the mention of another collar, eyes narrowing with instant hatred; there was her cheerful mood shattered into a million tiny little pieces. "If they dare even try to put that on me I will rip them to shreds and feed them to the wolves in the forest." Evelyn actually did growl, not bothering to hide it, her pupils shifting into those slits again, body tense now. "They put silver on it so you can't take it off for me..." She glared at the doors to the building. "We should go scare them to death while they aren't prepared."

He smiled to himself at her mortal comment - that was almost him speaking for a second there. Strange, how they'd only known each other for a grand total of about five days, and were already rubbing off on each other. Though his smile faded at the mentioning of what the collar was for, and he glanced back at her - they were just outside the doors now, close enough to even hear the voices inside.
There were mutterings about the perimeter they should keep to, and that if anyone saw the demon they were to throw the chain instantly... they were still puzzled at how he'd gotten it off last time. He wasn't the type to travel with a partner, they'd heard. But think of the wealth if they caught him alive!
"Putting silver on it won't stop me." he told her in a low voice, almost a snarl really - if they thought only silver would be enough to bring him down they were wrong, he would risk burned hands to get the collar off of Evelyn. It was almost enough last time, but they'd had a crucifix with them too. And not even that was going to stop him now. Vyncent seemed to be radiating some kind of bleak, negative energy as his mood darkened, his hands clenched into fists in front of the door. The people behind them had frozen, looking terrified at the two at the doors. There was something terribly wrong with both of them.
"I think we should do more than scare them." Uh oh, there was that subtle undertone to his normal voice again - he was getting angry. "Come on." his booted foot shot out from under the cloak to crash into the heavy doors, making them fly open. The demon strode through into the building then, his cloak flaring out around him from some unseen breeze.

Evelyn listened to the voices carefully, stood with her head titled slightly to help her hearing. A slight scowl rested upon her features as she listened to them plot and plan against them. They weren't counting on the shifter still being with him, but there was always that possibility that she was there, that was why they had had that collar made up as soon as they had seen her with him. They couldn't have a dangerous shifter running around with a dangerous demon could they? And if they were together then they had to make sure that Vyncent wouldn't be able to remove the collar, so it had to be more than the infamous collar she he shoved down her Masters throat to choke him.
"If they put silver on you I'll get it off," She nodded to him dutifully, removing her bangles to put them in her coat pocket to ensure that they didn't get lost in the mayhem that was about to unfold. She was infected with that negative energy that was radiating from him, her own thoughts becoming filled with red and a rage that reflected in her eyes. They wanted to cage her! And kill her, why shouldn't they suffer for plotting such a crime?
Those sleek and deadly ebony claws tipped her long fingers again as the doors splintered and flew back under the force of Vyncent's kick, her senses on guard and alert as she stalked into the room after him. Her emerald gaze flicked around swiftly as they stepped inside, taking in the layout of the room as well as the people and their weapons in one swoop, growling lowly again. It didn't matter how many of them there were or how well they were armed, they would die here today, at her hand or Vyncent's.

Yes, there did seem to be rather a lot of people packed into that hall, though only about five of them were nobles. These were standing the nearest to the front, one with the silver chain looped over his arm and another holding the black and silver collar destined for Evelyn, little spheres of amber lining the inside of it so they would permanently be in contact with her skin. And the looks of surprise on their faces were simply priceless as they eyed up the cloaked man and the woman next to them. They didn't look like the shifter and the demon - but wait. The woman had freaking CLAWS. Then that must---
"Good afternoon, gentlemen." Vyncent purred in his double voice, the cloak pulled from around him in one fluid motion to reveal the demon, his trademark red coat seeming all the brighter now that it had been concealed for so long. He looked surprisingly well-composed considering how angry he was, that deadly little shimmer in his eyes the only hint of warning (apart from his voice) of how pissed off he was - that and his fists were clenched tight enough to break a man's bones into dust. "We couldn't help but overhear your plans... and we're afraid we have to disagree with you. We won't be the ones dying today."
Even the nobles had backed off, and the townspeople - well, let's just say it was lucky that the hall had windows, with the rate that some of those cowards leapt through them. The noble holding the chain had regained at least some composure, the silver chain snapping out expertly towards Vyncent's neck in an aim to capture him like before. The demon actually caught the thing though, a sharp hiss breaking the awed silence as he snatched it from the air, launching it across the room away from him. A bleeding train-track of a burn criss-crossed his palm now, but he didn't even seem to notice.

Evelyn couldn't help but grin to herself as they turned to look at them, with on her her twisted little grins which destroyed any impression someone may have of her as simply being a pretty young woman. What caused the grin? Well, the realization that now they would be able to get an artist to draw a new picture for her wanted poster, which would probably be printed and distributed rather swiftly after today. Oh, she was going to be famous, how she just adored bouts of mindless violence.
Evelyn took a step to the side as the chain went rushing toward Vyncent in order to dodged it as he threw it to the corner of the room, though even she recoiled ever so slightly as she saw the anger in his eyes; that attack had just signed their death warrant. They had hurt him, and she knew that he wouldn't let them get away with that, he would never let them get away with something like that. Oh well, served them right, idiots.
Evelyn , oddly, remained in her human form as she stepped forward, toward the first of the people that had dared to gather the courage and step in their way, raising his sword as if to challenge her. Challenge her? Tut tut, that wasn't nice was it? She dodged the sword easily as he swung it at her, using the vulnerability the miss had given the man to reach over and dig her claws into his throat, leaving a long tear in his neck, blood spurting out from the wound, splattering over her though she didn't seem to notice it as she raised her gaze to the man with the collar as her first victim dropped to the ground, challenge in her eyes, as if daring him to even attempt to put that ting on her.

The nobles seemed stunned as the chain clattered to the corner of the room, and some paused in their advances as Evelyn tore into the man's throat, not daring to move any closer to her. Vyncent was still while all of this went on, a pleased little smile on his face as Evelyn destroyed the mortal beside him. He didn't even glance at her - he didn't need to. One of the nobles stepped forward, his wanted poster rolled up in one hand. "Vyncent Schwarz, Evelyn Paynter, you are---"
"Give it a rest." he purred, the tips of his hair stirring from around his shoulders as he raised his hand, slowly, towards the noble with the poster. He only whispered a single word in some harsh, unpronouncable language and the noble was torn completely inside out, flecking the crowd with blood and baring his organs to his comerades. His scream was an awful gurgling cry, becoming quickly highpitched and the cutting off altogether as Vyncent relaxed his hand, the bag of flesh collapsing to the ground and the poster rolling to his feet. He stepped on it purposely as he walked forwards, each footstep causing a splinter in the stone despite how lightly he was walking.
"Special enough so far?" he threw his crooked smile to Evelyn, pausing to crush the windpipe of a foolish villager who'd stepped towards them, watching him crumple at his feet. The man with the collar was feigning backing away now, before he suddenly leapt forwards with several other men, hoping to all take the shifter down at once. Oh well, their funeral.

Evelyn turned to look at Vyncent as she picked up that strange word, seeming both amazed and disgusted as the man was literally turned inside out. She did, however, clap her hands together and grin at him. "That was great! Do it again, do it again!" Goodness, she really was too excitable and easily distracted wasn't she? Even in the middle of fighting she could be distracted by the slightest thing. Stupid damn demon, using special demon magic that distracted her in the middle of a fight, she would probably get hurt, or worse because of that.
Oh yes, and here it was, the consequences of her distraction. She didn't notice the people jumping at her until it was too late to move out of the way, spinning around to claw at the face of the man that knocked her to the ground, ignoring his screams of pain as she dug her claws into his eyes until she felt them pop. The shifted landed on the ground heavily, underneath the poor villager who had his hands to his face, wailing miserably from the pain and also the fact she had just plunged his world into eternal darkness. Various other hands pinned her down, moving the injured man away as they held her wrists to the ground roughly, pinning her there as the man with the collar grinned. Psht, stupid shifter. He leant over and forcefully put the collar around her neck, smirking as it clicked shut and locked. However, it wasn't as harmless as it first seemed. On the inside of it were metal hooks which dug into her skin as it was put on her, Evelyn whimpering as blood trickled down over her neck; if Vyncent tried to rip the collar off he would tear helf of her skin off too, not good.
The effects of the collar were instant as the amber touched to her skin, Evelyn hissing as the claws retreated back into nails and her pupils returned to normal, the shifter seeming to turn pale, looking weakened. Ohhhh shit, Evelyn was practically defenseless now, which made the villagers grin as they released her. Well, disposing of her would be easy enough now.

Vyncent was fairly distracted at the moment, not really noticing what had happened to Evelyn until the first line of villagers had gotten their organs boiled from the inside, or their limbs removed or both. He turned around, rage in his eyes as the floor around them began to shake and then, with just another whispered word pillars of stone literally erupted into the town hall, impaling anyone stupid enough to stand in the way of them. Idiot mortals, they had the reflexes of dead people! Well, even more so after they had died, but still.
He appeared like a ghost behind the noble who had put the collar on her, he was now leering over Evelyn. In seconds his heart seemed to be hanging over her face, dripping oh-so-much blood... oh wait, Vyncent's pale hand was clenched around it, the demon grinning like a maniac. "She doesn't like being touched, by the way." he whispered in the choking noble's ear, before literally throwing him away from the shifter to smack sickeningly into the wall next to the chain, his heart still dribbling blood in Vyncent's fist. "Ace of hearts. Something special." he murmured to her, throwing the heart to the floor.
He glared at the other men holding her down, that was it. Just a glare and two of them had scrambled back away from him, the others ending up on fire or disemboweled in some way. Vyncent moved so fast at points now, it didn't seem like he was moving at all. "Hold still. This won't take long, then we can leave." he muttered to her, eyes roaming over the collar and her blood as a few mortals practically exploded behind him; he was muttering those strange words under his breath again.

She turned her head away as the mans heart was shoved out of his chest, dark blood dripping onto her cheek, splatting over her pale skin before dribbling off to join the rest of the blood on her neck. They were touching her and they had put a collar on her; she felt sick, more than sick, she felt dizzy, as if she were going to pass out. She knew she couldn't pass out though, if she passed out she would die for certain, oh and look there was Vyncent.
She scrambled away from the villagers as he disposed over them, kneeling on the ground as she tilted her chin up a little, hands moving to the collar as both fear and tears filled her emerald eyes, making their colour blaze. Her nails bit into her flesh as she dug them under the edges of the collar, leaving crescent moon shaped cuts in her neck as she attempted to claw it off. She was panicking, though each touch to the collar was agony as those little hooks dragged through her flesh, making more blood bubble out from under the collar.
"It hurts Vynce." She muttered to him, blinking quickly in an attempt now to cry. "I want it off, can you get it off? Please get it off Vynce..." She whimpered as her hands dropped away from her neck to sit in her lap, fingertips tainted with her own blood, pressing her eyes closed as a tear ran down her cheek. As he began to mumble like that the amber in the collar seemed to light up from inside, showing up etchings of detailed crucifixes on each of the blobs of amber. "That stings..." She sniffed, tilting her head back as much as she could manage with those hooks in her neck causing more and more pain as the flesh stretched, as if she were just trying to get away from the collar; this one was even more awful than the one before had been.

Vyncent recoiled as the little crucifixes lit up all over the collar, pressing one bloodied hand to his temples and stumbling back a little. What kind of hell-collar was this thing? He growled under his breath, the walls of the town hall slowly beginning to crumble and the next wave of attack met with certain death from the demon; he was not in a good mood anymore. Eyes gleaming, he'd stopped chanting the spell and had more or less recovered from that little attack of pain, leaning down next to Evelyn, his lips just centimetres away from her ear... but he wasn't quite touching her.
"I need you to calm down." he purred to her in a low voice that was entirely his own - well, he didn't want to scare her half to death, did he? "And I want you to stay very still, otherwise you're going to kill yourself with that thing. The rest of this won't take long, and then I can try and get the collar off." he told her in his velvet voice, straightening up and glaring over his shoulder to the remainder of the villagers. That awful smile was on his lips again as he raised his hand, breathing out the mis-matched syllables of another death-word in a whisper.
The villagers halted instantly, one of them reaching a hand to claw at his throat before others did the same - he'd positioned it so that Evelyn could see them all choking to death. "Let's see how you like it when you have to wear a collar." he snarled, grinning to himself and clenching the hand he'd raised. The line of villagers all fell simultaneously, most blue in the face and a few coughing blood onto the stone tiles, but all unmistakeably dead. He turned his attention back to Evelyn then, coat flaring out around his ankles as he leant down beside her.

She sniffled as he spoke to her, turning her head ever so slightly toward him to watch him through the corner of her eye. She nodded to him ever so slightly, reaching up to rub her tears from her cheeks angrily, annoyed with herself for falling apart like this, and in front of Vyncent too? Tsk tsk, he really would think that she was unstable now wouldn't he? And he wouldn't want to be stuck with an unstable and overly emotional shifter would he? She needed to pull herself together before he just left her to die for being so damn stupid.
Her gaze flickered over to the people as they began to choke, a tiny grin tugging at the edges of her lips, her eyes reflecting the sadistic pleasure she was getting out of watching them die like that. They had put a collar on her and Vyncent choked them for her; it seemed like a fair exchange to her, her freedom for their lives, except she could always regain her freedom whereas they would never be able to get their lives back. Oh well, still a fair trade in her mind; she would rather be dead than loose her freedom.
She was sitting as still as she could now, the only parts of her moving were her chest when she breathed and her eyes as she watched Vyncent, oh and her blood as it dribbles off down over her collar bone. "Are you sure you can get it off?" She asked, her voice still shaky and weak, tainted with an undercurrent of panic that betrayed her feelings. "If you can't them just rip it off and I'll have to heal..." She told him. Yes, that was how much she wanted the collar off, she would rather be scarred for life than be made to wear it for any longer than necessary.
