Grimm couldn't help but smile. He couldn't fully understand what Edward had to be feeling, but either way the ghost seemed happy. As Edward sat back, Grimm's shoulders relaxed and the Reaper glanced forward at the waters. The shore water quietly licked the bank, each time getting closer and closer to where they had been sitting.
He turned his attention back to Edward as the ghost spoke again. "Well that's good." He said gently. Grimm shook his head when Edward thanked him, the awkward smile returning to his face. "I get it. You're not the first person to be relieved when they find they can touch someone after death." He murmured softly. "And it's okay. I can't blame you. I don't fully understand it, but I certainly can't blame you." Grimm shrugged.
"You're like...stuck between moving from this realm to the next. So if there are other ghosts around, you could touch them. Though it's not the same as touching a person." The Reaper explained quietly. "You can touch me because I am...what I am." He paused, his blue eyes flicking back to the water. "So, Edward Sharpe...what do you like doing in your newly acquired free time?" He grinned, his gaze moving onto the ghost's face. "You know, aside from saving nymphs from monsters."

“I’m not? Phew… that… that’s actually a relief,” Edward said lightly, laughing to himself and still seeming pretty damn cheerful. He was on a high after meeting Grimm; no wonder he’d been equally awed by and drawn towards him. He looked almost gleeful at the confirmation that he could touch other ghosts, and it skimmed over his head completely that it might not be the same as touching people. He’d been alone for so long, he realised, even though he spent almost all of his death watching others. “Well I’m glad to have found you,” he told Grimm, watching the water and tugging at a loose thread on his dark shirt.
He flashed the Reaper a mischievous smile in response to his sudden questions. “When I’m not saving hapless nymphs I’m quite a fan of helping other damsels in distress; wood elves, princesses, and the odd beautiful enchantress,” he explained, tone of voice exaggerated and dramatic. “But on quieter days, lurking in a pub and watching the rabble will do. Oh!” He grinned suddenly, nodding to him. “And I like to play jokes. I don’t like scaring people, that’s not as fun. Just surprising them. Is that weird for a ghost?” He asked, clambering to his feet and stretching. He was fairly hyperactive now, as was obvious when he rumpled up Grimm’s hair – just because he could.
“What about you? What’d you like to do?” He asked curiously.

"No, you're not," Grimm reassured the ghost gently. He stared the at the ghost, smiling awkwardly. "I am glad too." He nodded, glancing around the lagoon wearily. The two were still alone, but Grimm wasn't sure how long that would last. They had been alone here for a while - surely this lagoon was home to someone. He turned his attention back upon Edward as he spoke.
"Damsels in distress?" The Reaper chuckled, smiling. "You're quite the ladies man, huh? For some reason, I am not surprise." He shrugged lazily. Grimm shifted, raking a hand through his shaggy black hair, his awkward smile growing. "...Jokes?" He inquired, his voice sounding a touch hopeful. "It's...not weird at all, actually. A lot of ghosts do. I guess it's a thing." He murmured slowly. Grimm laughed as Edward mussed his hair. "I love playing pranks on people too... not really scaring people. But I like confusing them and whatnot." He explained nonchalantly, as if it were no big deal for a celestial being to play pranks on humans.

Edward followed Grimm’s gaze around the lagoon; besides water nymphs, he’d never known any other creatures to appear here, beyond the few bugs and animals. The jungle was alive though, he knew, and undoubtedly something would lurk up eventually. All the more reason of find something new to do. In a remarkably good mood, Edward was pretty much up to try anything. “Oh yes,” he said to Grimm, flashing him a rather devious smile. “The ladies, they love me.”
Giving a proud nod, the ghost picked his way up the bank away from the water, his dark eyes lighting up as soon as the Reaper confessed to enjoying pranks. “You do?” He laughed cheerfully. “Ahhh, this is great. C’mon, c’mon. I know this little pub in Quem. The bartender, he’s been trying to exorcise me for months. This should be good, with someone to play pranks with. Do you want to come?”

Grimm stared at Edward, mildly surprised by the ghost's offer to accompany him. Either way, the Reaper wasn't complaining. He couldn't say no to a good prank - much less one with someone else, a ghost no less. He smiled awkwardly, nodding his head. "Yes, I do." He answered simply, shrugging his shoulder. Grimm got to his feet at a leisurely pace, paying no mind to the water or dirt that had stained the edges of his pant legs. He stretched out languidly, before moving up the bank towards the brush and trees.
"So for months? Have anything planned for this time around?" Grimm inquired, as they walked. "You've laid out some groundwork, we could have a lot of fun with this prank Edward." He glanced sideways at his friend, smiling. "I'm glad to have met someone else who enjoys pranking.." The Reaper paused, his sharp azure eyes glinting with mischief. "People often look down at me for being a bit of a jokester." He shook his head, glancing up through the canopy of trees at the remaining light. "I can't help it if I like a good laugh." Grimm shrugged.

“I’m not sure,” Edward confessed, “I think I’ll see how I feel when I get there. I’ve been leaving him alone for the past week or so, so he should have been lured into a false sense of security by now. He’ll think I’m gone.” The ghost tittered, grinning across at Grimm. “Me too,” he admitted, rubbing at the back of his head. “It gets lonely sometimes… and I dunno, death should have a sense of humour,” he reasoned, stretching his arms above his head. “I mean, some people must die in funny ways. It’d be almost wrong not to laugh.”
Winking at the Reaper, Edward wasted no further time. “I’ll meet you there? You’ll know where to go…?” He assumed, not waiting for a reply before simply vanishing into the air, leaving no trace behind him.
The pub was shaded to keep away the mid-afternoon sun, all the shutters thrown wide, the door propped open with a mop and bucket. People were milling around inside, eating, drinking, talking, and it seemed as if everyone had stopped for a break to get out of the heat for a while. The bartender; a large, deeply tanned man in his fifties, was polishing a glass behind his bar. When he was done, he snatched an orange from a barrel nearby and began to peel it.
Edward popped up without a word. “Oooh. An orange. Can I have some?” He asked softly, a broad smile on his face. Then he was gone again.
“WAUGH.” The bartender started and whipped around to find the spot behind him empty. Everyone paused to look. He flushed with both fury and embarrassment.

Grimm nodded at Edward, unsurprised when the ghost vanished in thin air. A small smirk passed over the Reaper's face, and then he was gone too. Nothing remained in the jungle, not even a sound.
The Reaper reappeared only seconds after Edward had disappeared, a few feet behind the bartender. "I like oranges too." He said casually. "I'll have some as well, if you don't mine sharing." He vanished again. Grimm reappeared in a shady corner of the bar, watching the bartender from afar. He had of course, expected his ghastly friend to appear near him. "This will be fun, you know." He murmured softly, seemingly to no one, but Grimm knew Edward was around. He smiled, his sharp blue eyes flicking around the pub casually, a glint of mischief.
