Angel clambered into the Crow's Nest first, leaning against the railing to smile down at Charlie triumphantly. "I won! I should get a prize or something." She smirked to him a little looking up as he climbed over the railing to stand next to her. "I might have to demand that you tell me a story tonight, that could be my prize." She smiled brightly and nodded before turning her gaze away from him to take in the view.
Angel was looking back at the port rather than out to sea, her wings fluttering behind her, showing that she was so excitable that standing still was difficult. From up there it all felt real, she could see exactly what they were leaving behind and where they were going, well, when se looked the other way she saw water stretching right to the horizon, and somewhere beyond that was where they were going, but it was close enough.
"It's the perfect day for exploration and self discovery." She nodded to him enthusiasticlly, glancing down at the deck of the ship to watch Christophe move towards the netting that lead up to where they were. "I can't wait to set off. I really wish they'd hurry up. I think I might explode from excitement if we don't go soon."

"For you, Angel, I'd tell a thousand tales!" Charlie exclaimed as he stood next to Angel. He looked over the water, gleaming peacefully in the sunlight. It did seem a good day for sailing and he knew he was a fool to hope that the whole trip could be just like this. He leaned on the edge of the crow's nest, propping his elbows on it and staring over the open sea. He raised his eyebrows at Angel in mock fear as she threatened to blow up from excitement and laughed. "Well, try and aim your explosion in the other direction, will you? I don't much like the idea of being splattered by your innards, as lovely as I'm sure they are," he teased, taking a step back in fake caution and holding up his arms as if to brace himself.

"I'm not a fan of martyrs. Or dying, actually. But then a 'happily ever after' can be equally as boring, I suppose." Roslyn agreed lightly as she watched Christophe, not sure whether his outpouring of vocabulary and seemingly aimless rambling was amusing to her or annoying. Eventually she settled for feeling somewhere between the two, a soft smirk on her face as he swung onto the rigging, quirking a brow up at him.
"Climbing might well be within my province, but I much prefer staying on the ground eating souls, thank you very much." she declined, "Besides which, I think this dress is a little improper for the occasion. Climbing, I might be able to achieve, if I weren't restricted by my attire. I suppose you'll have to face this exciting feat on your own, a lone swashbuckler on the high seas." she smirked, pushing a lock of hair from her face; the breeze was picking up now that they were beginning to move away from the port, and the bobbing of the ship was becoming more evident.

Christophe hooked his feet into the rigging and dropped backwards, until he was hanging upside down with his head at Rosyln's eye level. His scruffy fringe flopped out of his eyes and he shook his head quickly. "Forgive me; improper seemed like it was your thing. But maybe you're 'mm, barbequed children' kind, rather than the 'whoops, there go my clothes again!' kind. I have to say, I'm completely the opposite. Don't much like clothes." He laughed. "That was a joke. By the way. Could you tell? Does me being upside down make it harder?"
He pulled himself back up and sat facing her. "But lone swashbuckler, that I could handle. Well, just for a while. Just until I got bored. I'd need somebody to talk to. But I'm losing my train of thought. These sentences are all too short. Gotta use longer ones." He took a deep breath to steady himself, and started again. "So, as this lone swashbuckler character - do I get a parrot? Ooh, or better yet a monkey? They could steal... but then, I suppose you can't get monkeys to talk."

"A thousand tales!?!?" She grinned to him, her hair fluttering around in the breeze now, a loose feather pulled free from her wing, drifting out into the air. "I think that one or two stories will do, I might get bored on your way to a thousand." She winked to him and giggled. At least they all seemed to be in high spirits at the begining of this journey, and Angel had no idea how long that would last, but something that started well couldn't go too badly wrong, could it?
"I will try my best to explode away from you, but I can't make any promises." She laughed as he stepped away from her, shaking her head a little before leaning over the railings slightly to look down at Christophe and Roslyn. "You know, we could amuse ourself for this full journey just by watching those two talking."

"That woman... She's icy, isn't she?" Charlie asked. He hated to speak ill of people, so he did his best not to sound accusing. He wondered if perhaps Roslyn would kill Christophe before the trip was over. That man did love to babble, and Roslyn didn't seem the tolerant kind to Charlie. Of course, it was too early to judge either of them, he decided. He'd just have to get to know them better.
Charlie had learned a long time ago that everyone had a story, and he wasn't the sort to turn down a story of any kind.
"HEY! If ye don't mind, that be my crow's nest you're lounging in!" one of the shipmates yelled from below. Charlie frowned. Well, there wasn't really a need for the crow's nest right now, since they hadn't even left the dock yet. And even so, he didn't have any reason to be rude.
"But can't you see?" he demanded loudly, gesturing his arms toward his companion. "She's an angel! She needs to keep as close to the heavens as possible!"
"Then tell her to bloody fly," the shipmate retorted impatiently. "I've no time for your games, boy!" Charlie rolled his eyes and smiled at Angel.
"I suppose we've overstayed our welcome," he said with a shrug. "After you." He graciously waved an arm at the roping they had climbed up on.

"Oh, improper is my thing, but it's neither the 'Mmm barbequed children' kind or the 'Whoops there go my clothes again!' kind. It's more of a 'Sir, if you continue looking down my dress I'm going to rip off something important' kind." she explained, though she did smirk in amusement at his little joke, tilting her head slightly as if to check whether it made a difference that he was upside down. "I think a smile is still a smile no matter what way up it is." she concluded, straightening up again as he swung himself upright on the rigging.
"You'd have a monkey, of course. But the monkey would have a parrot on its shoulder." she told him easily, "That way you've got a monkey that can steal, and the parrot can translate for it. Simple, no?" she shrugged, golden eyes flashing up to the crows' nest for a second or two, as if wondering what the other new arrivals were doing.

Christophe shook his head, momentarily disoriented. He had been distracted from interacting with his companions for over a month (oops) and it took him a moment or so to get his bearings and remember where the conversation was up to. He pulled a face at Roslyn's comment - something important was... well, important, and he imagined such a move would hurt. But then, with a glance into Roslyn's glinting gold eyes, Christophe realised that he had no doubts whatsoever of her seriousness. He would have to stay at least one metre away from her at all times to avoid offending her... 'accidentally'.
Charlie's shouted comment drew Christophe's attention, and he glanced at the pair now descending from the crow's nest. But they couldn't hold him for long - as attractive as the winged girl was, the Charlie fellow was awfully protective of her, and neither approached the enigma that was the icy woman in front of him.
"Oh, I like that," he commented absentmindedly. "The best of both worlds."

"She does seem a little...less than welcoming." Angel murmured, turning her gaze down to the other woman for a moment, falling quiet with a strange look in her eyes before she instantly perked up again and smiled to Charlie. "They seem interesting though, at least they aren't dull people."
A pout moved over her features as the sailor shouted to them from the deck, turning fully now to look down at him, white blond hair flying around her head. "Fly? And ruffle my feathers up even more? I think not." She huffed playfully before nodding to Charlie. "I think it may be time to go down now, he seems grumpy." She agreed before simply jumping over the edge. Angel surprised herself sometimes, especially when she got caught up in the moment like that. She landed lightly and elegantly on the deck, seeming bemused as to how she got there as she straightened up.
"Opse..." She whispered as she turned to look back up at Charlie and smile sheepishly, rubbing at the back of her head. "I got down first, that means I win, right?" She called up to him.
