Chris wasn't most people. He was a gentleman. For him, it was all about politeness and manners. So what if Phoenix was a complete and utter bastard? He still had to treat him the same, even if he disliked him. He was Chris's guest (uninvited guest, but still a guest), and that meant that he had to act appropriatly. Well, whenever Rory was around he would. He wouldn't have her thinking any less of him just because he couldn't hide his dislike for the theif. No, he wouldn't stoop to that level. He had lived at the palace for a long while, he knew how to hide his dislike for people.
He waited until Phoenix was seated before clambering into the carriage, pulling the door shut after him. Once they were all seated he knocked twice on the roof, signalling to the driver that they could set off.
Rory smiled to Phoenix as he spoke, his optimism rubbing off on her. It was far easier to look on the bright side when Phoenix was feeling better too. "I think things are starting to look up too." She agreed with him, Chris biting his tongue to avoid asking just what had happened since she left the palace. Oh, this was going to be a long carriage journey, there were so many unanswered questioning hanging between them for things not to be akward.
