Her eyes grew heavier with each step that she took, her weariness ceeping up on her. She hto pause more than once to shake her head and wake herself up a little before continuing on. The stairs were the worst, they seemed like a mountain, Rory having no idea how she reached the top without giving up. All she wanted to do was sleep in a nice comfortable bed. She just wanted to curl up under her blankets and sleep and sleep and sleep until she couldn't sleep anymore. She had never felt this tired before, so tired that her hunger wasn't even bothering her. All she wanted to do was take her shoes off, change into something clean and sleep. Was that too much to ask?
She gave a sigh of relief as the girl opened the door to the room, not even noticing the smile that she gave Phoenix, too focused on getting inside and collapsing. She shuffled into the room after the thief, heading to the bed next to Phoenix's, silently thanking him for making sure that the room had two beds. If there had only been one bed then she wouldn't have slept well, or comfortably. Like Phoenix said, she was far too proper around men, and she had only slept in the same bed as him because she was worried about him...those had been exceptional circumstances.
Rory half flopped down to sit on the edge of the bed, removing her little shoulder bag before reaching down to carefully slip her shoes off, rather dismayed as she spotted the angry, red blisters on her heels and little toes. Owch. They weren't going to go away anytime soon, were they? She scowled ever so slightly as she opened her bag up, pulling out her hair brush and her night dress before looking around the room. "Is there any water in here, for washing?"

"There should be some in the basin over there." he pointed to a chest of drawers across the room from them, to a small basin which was routinely filled with water for the purpose of washing and the like. Phoenix rubbed his eyes as he sank down onto the bed, mumbling something to himself and opening the leather bag to peer inside, as though checking what was in there. He didn't remove anything, however, simply reaching over to pick it up and set it down on the floor next to him, hiding a yawn behind his hand. He set about taking off his boots, not nearly as tired as she was, but still pretty drained from all that had happened today. Adventure; it was tough on your nerves, wasn't it?
The girl returned after a few moments with some food on a tray, smiling at them politely and setting it down on a small table which sat between the two beds. "I hope you enjoy your stay. Goodnight." she nodded to them, flashing Phoenix a smirk (which he couldn't be bothered to return, to her dismay) and edging back out of the room. The thief paused for a second, looking over at the food before flopping onto his back on the bed with a sleepy groan, tugging the black band out of his hair to free it, closing his eyes for a second. "I still can't believe we made it." he smiled after a while without opening his eyes, half because he was too tired to, and half because she might have been undressing or something like that. Though he was pretty sure he'd have been warned beforehand if she was doing that.
Eventually he shifted to sit up again, even if a little reluctantly, turning to look at the food set down on the table between them. He wasn't that hungry, but that was probably just out of habit. Phoenix didn't feel hunger as strongly as other people, but he thought it was best to at least eat something before he slept. They'd be travelling a lot more now, after all, so he'd have to remember to eat.

Her gaze slowly drifted over to the baisin on the chest of draws, watching it for a moment, as though she hoped that it would float over to her so that she wouldn't have to stand up. Unfortunatly, that didn't happen. No matter how long she looked at that bowl it wasn't going to move. She sighed heavily as she forced herself to her feet, ignoring the protests of her muscles as she drew her wash cloth and soap from her bag before moving over to the basin. She was sure that she would feel better after washing, she would feel more like herself anyway. She was surprised to find that the water was luke warm as she dipped her wash cloth into it, rubbing some soap onto the cloth once it was wet before washing her face, arms and then her legs and feet, shocked by how dusty she was. She must have looked such a state walking into the inn! What must they have thought of her? She wrinkled her nose at the now dirty water, rinsing her cloth out before hanging it over the edge of the baisin to dry.
"I feel so much better now." She smiled as she sat back on the edge of the bed, at least feeling refreshed now. Now all she needed to do was change once she had eaten and she could happily sleep half of the day away...or sleep until Phoenix woke up. She had just sat down whe the girl walked in, unable to hide her suspicion of her. She had no idea why she disliked this girl so much, she just...did. It was the way she looked at Phoenix, she was sure that it was the way that she looked at Phoenix, and that awful smile that just made Rory want to tell her to go away; though she couldn't explain why she reacted to her like that. It was irrational, but everytime that girl entered the room she felt her stomach clench and twist...and she felt inexplicably competitive. Maybe this was all just a by-product of her weariness?
"I know...I still can hardly believe it. I'm worried that I will wake up back at the palace." She admitted to him, shuffling down the bed to pick at the food that they had been brought. Her stomach growled at her, making her blush brightly and glance up at Phoenix. "Oh...sorry...I guess I am hungry..." She murmured. Oh dear, that was embarrassing. Maybe she should have mentioned that she was hungry earlier? Her stomach had never made that noise before.

He couldn't help but chuckle a little as her stomach growled; unlike her, he was all too used to the sound, it was nothing to be embarrassed about. "You should've said something, there was food in the bag." he told her with a playful roll of his eyes, pointing to the leather bag he was carrying. Layla had packed some bread, fruit and other such things just in case they were hungry; and they'd have to carry food if they were going to be travelling, Phoenix had been in the unfortunate position of having no food when you were miles from the next place before, and he didn't intend for it to happen again. Nonetheless he continued to pick at the food on the tray, considering they'd already paid for it, sweeping his hair back from his face.
His crimson tousles fell loose around his shoulders now, much to his annoyance, but considering he was going to sleep soon he didn't think it mattered. Phoenix hated letting his hair down; it got in the way and made him look... different, somehow, not like himself. But cutting it was useless, considering the rate that it grew. So it was best just to ignore it. He stretched when he was finished with the food, tugging his shirt over his head. He was sleepy now, and it was best to get to sleep considering that he planned to be up early in the morning. They were away from Cressa, but not nearly as far enough away as he wanted to be. They'd have to get into the deep countryside before he started to feel safer.
Hiding a yawn behind his hand, Phoenix hung his shirt at the end of his bed and flopped onto his back, rubbing his eyes. The countryside actually sounded like a refreshing change... Phoenix would always be a city person, he couldn't deny that, but maybe a change of scenery was what he needed. "I'll see you in the morning, okay Rory? Stay up as long as you want to, but remember we've gotta keep moving." he winked at her, smiling a little before closing his eyes. He never bothered with the blankets until it really was Winter; you appreciated them more, that way. "'Night."

"I didn't know if you would have packed anything to eat or not." She murmured to him, smiling a little. "I will ask next time." She assured with a nod. Unlike Phoenix, the Princess ate most of her meal, only leaving a little on the plate out of politeness. That felt better, she was clean and not hungry anymore, now all she needed to do was sleep to get rid of her weariness. She was surprised by how little the thief ate, though she had never really seen him eat very much. Food wasn't quite as abundant in the slums as it had been at the palace, and it would take a little while to get used to a smaller ammount of food. She just needed a little time to adapt, like with everything else, she just needed time to get used to how things were going to work now. "Good night Phoenix, sleep well." She murmured to him as he laid down, rising to her feet and taking her bag with her. There was a screen in the corner of the room, she could change behind that without having to worry about Phoenix waking up at an inappropriate moment. She hung her bag on the corner of the screen before disappearing behind it. "I won't stay up for long. I'm just going to get changed." She told him, just so that he wouldn't wondering where she was and worry. She tugged off her dusty dress and changed into her nightdress, taking a moment to brush the dust from her dressso that it looked a little cleaner before draping it over the top of the screen. That should at least stop her dress getting creased until she changed back into it in the morning. Once that was done she moved over to pick up the key from the table, locking the door before returning the key to where she had found it. You could never be too careful, could you? This wasn't like his room at the inn, he didn't know anyone here, which meant that it was safer to lock the door. Now that was out of the way shen went to bed, slipping under the blankets. Her muscles ached and her feet were throbbing, but none of that mattered. As soon as her head touched to the pillow she was asleep, finally allowing her exhaustion to take over.

Phoenix slept soundly for most of the night, allowing the excitement of all that had happened that day to carry him off into a dreamless sleep. However, towards morning, as the sun peaked over the clifftop that Avangarde was perched on, he frowned to himself, getting that familiar feeling of a nightmare invading his thoughts. They might have gotten away from Cressa, and hopefully away from the White Knights, but the memory was still burned clearly into his mind, and would take a while to go away. This nightmare, at least, didn't seem like anything on the scale that he'd had previously, the thief sighing and turning to curl up on his side, trying to ignore it. It wasn't long before his eyes fluttered open though, looking troubled as he stared across at the other bed that Rory was on. Ugh, another day, he wondered what they'd have him do toda--
Wait.
He blinked a few times to clear his thoughts, eyes warily flitting around the room. This wasn't his room. Then the memories came flooding back all at once, and he couldn't help but smile. Any remnant of the nightmare that had woken him was completely dispelled as he turned to lie on his back, tucking his arms behind his head. That's right. They'd escaped, now they were free. Now they could travel, and he could show Rory all the things she'd wanted to see, but never could. And one day they would return to Cressa, forgotten, and everything would be fine. Waking up like this really put you in a chipper mood, didn't it? The thief stretched languidly, finally sitting up to look across to the closed curtains of the window.
It couldn't have been much past dawn, he realised as he slipped off the bed, finding his shirt and batting some of the dust off it before tugging it over his head and trying to remember where he'd put his waist-coat. The welts on his back were healing well, now. He'd been surprised that they hadn't re-opened or anything while they'd been running away from those guards, or diving to the ground to avoid the rock-slide. But he wasn't going to complain for good fortune, they could use all the luck they could get. Atfer finding his waist-coat and shrugging into it, Phoenix glanced over his shoulder to look at Rory. He didn't really want to wake her if she was still deeply asleep, but they really needed to move soon...

Rory was still fast asleep as Phoenix woke, laid curled up on her side with the blankets pulled right up around her. Her exhaustion had lead to a dreamless sleep, which explained why the Princess has hardly stirred through the night. However, the strange surroundings must have meant that she wasn't sleeping quite as deeply as she looked to be, the sound of a floorboard creaking as Phoenix stood on it dragging her from her slumber. Her eyes were filled with a sleepy confusion as they fluttered open, blinking a couple of times before she focused on the empty bed opposite her. The memory of where she was and why took a little while to return to her, though when it did she smiled to herself and stretched out carefully. Oh, she ached everywhere. Her muscles felt so stiff...and that was just after a couple of miles walking. This walking business was more difficult than it first seemed.
She sat up once her mind had started to wake up properly, glancing around for Phoenix. "Good morning." She smiled to him as she stretched again. She was still a little tired, but nothing could be done about that. She knew that they couldn't lay in bed all day, they still needed to get further away from Cressa before they were safe...and the White Knights would learn of Phoenix's disappearance today. Maybe they would come looking for them? If so they would need to set off early to try and get a head start on them. Still, the idea of having to get up right now really wasn't very appealing, and her feet would hate her if she forced them back into those shoes. Maybe she should mention something to Phoenix?
"You are awake early." She commented as she folded her blankets back and swung her legs out of bed, hising a yawn behind her hand before she smoothed her hair out. "Did you sleep alright?" She asked, wondering if he'd had another nightmare. She had hoped that his nightmares would stop now that they were out of Cressa, maybe they would start to fade away gradually. She winced as she rose to her feet, her blisters hurting more now than they had last night. Ow ow ow. Walking today really was going to be fun.

"Oh, mornin' Rory." he smiled to her softly as he began to button up his waist-coat, "I didn't wake you, did I? Sorry about that..." he murmured, though he was mildly relieved that he hadn't had to go over and physically wake her up. He'd feel bad then, he could already tell she wasn't used to this travelling thing, and he'd have liked to let her sleep a little longer. But they really did need to get going. If they'd just gone out of Cressa on an easy-going trip then he could have walked slower so she didn't get thrown into it head first. But as things were, it just couldn't be helped. "Me? I slept great, yeah." he lied... well, half-lied. He had been sleeping great until the last hour or so, and the nightmare that had woken him had been a relatively mild one, so he couldn't complain much.
"How about you? You sleep alright?" he asked her as he straightened out the covers on the bed, searching through the leather bag by the side of the bed to take out a comb, running it through his hair a few times before replacing it and reaching back to plait his hair again. He didn't even need the aid of a mirror; he could probably do it with his eyes closed by now. When he was finished, his bangs falling into his face again, as usual, he sank back down onto the bed to look over at her. "We'll try and circle away from here and head inland today. Once we get out of the immediate view of Cressa we can take it a little slower. There are so many country roads, it'll be hard for them to pick the right one if they come looking for us." he nodded.
He frowned a little as he noticed her wince when she got up, gaze darting down to her feet. Whoa. Even he winced when he saw the blisters, the thief shuffling to it at the edge of the bed. "Don't tell me you did those yesterday." he shook his head, "Ick, Rory, you should'a said something!" he told her with a sigh, "I could have done something about your shoes hurtin' you... but now your feet are blistered it's harder to do anything about it." he murmured. He sighed and rose to his feet after her, resting one hand in his pockets. "I'll go and get some bandages. And some clean water." he murmured, moving to collect the basin from the chest of drawers and sweeping out of the room without giving her a chance to argue, flashing her a light smile as he left.

"I slept well too." She nodded to him as she made the bed, smoothing the blankets out neatly before straightening up. "I think I was too tired not to sleep well to be honest. I could have even slept sitting up." She murmured with a small smile. At least she felt a little better this morning, and once she had woken up properly she was sure that she would have enough energy to walk at least until the afternoon. She understood that they had to get away from Cressa as soon as possible, but she wouldn't be able to walk too quickly, walking too quickly would mean that she tired out faster. It would be better to take a moderate pace until Cressa was behind them, she was sure that they would get further that way.
She blinked as he commented about her feet, suddenly feeling rather guilty as she rubbed at the back of her head. "By the time that they started hurting we were in the middle of nowhere, so you wouldn't have been able to do anything...so I didn't want to bother you..." She murmured to him, looking down at her feet; they were rather a state, weren't they? Walking today was only going to make the blisters worse, and walking on them really was going to be painful. She was going to have to grit her teeth and try to battle through the pain so that they could escape Cressa as quickly as possible. Like Phoenix, she didn't want to linger for too long close to the city; the closer they were to it the more likely it was that they would get caught, either by the guards or by the White Knights.
"Um...but...alright..." She nodded to him slowly as he swept out of the room, pouting a little bit. He didn't need to fuss over her. If she bathed her feet properly then she should be alright. Oh well, she didn't have a choice but to let him help her, did she? So she might as well just get dressed while he was gone and wait for him coming back. She moved behind the screen to change back into the dress that she had hung there overnight, folding her nightdress to pack it back into her bag before tugging out her comb and mirror to brush her hair, humming to herself lightly as she waited for Phoenix to return with the clean water.

In retrospect, if she had spoken up about her feet hurting before he wouldn't have to fuss over her now. But he couldn't let her grin and bear it when they'd be walking like this for an indefinite amount of time, flitting from town to town until Phoenix was certain he'd been forgotten. He returned a few moments later with the basin full of clean water, a cloth and a few bandages wrapped around one arm. "If you clean and bathe your feet in the water, and then bandage the worst of the blisters then your feet shouldn't hurt as much walking today." he told her with a smile as he glanced over to her, setting the basin down next to her bed before straightening up again. "While you do that, I'll go out for a little while. The shops should be open at this time even though it's early... hopefully there'll be a few people about too." he murmured.
Unwrapping the bandages from around his arm, he coiled those up and placed them on the bed before sinking down onto his own, stretching languidly. "We've gotta get you some real walking shoes... the smith's will have some for definite, but I'll have to borrow your others for the size." he murmured, making it rather clear that she didn't have a say on whether she needed them or not, or if they had to save their money (Phoenix planned to steal some of the money, anyway) or if they would have time. "That way you'll be less likely to get more blisters. And you can break 'em in today while we walk." he shrugged, pushing his bangs out of his eyes and rising to his feet again to walk to the window.
The curtains were still drawn, but the sun was definitely up by now, Phoenix peering through the curtains down into the street with a light smile. "It's a shame, really..." he murmured, "Avangarde is a really beautiful place, if we'd had more time I'd have taken you to the sea..." he smiled faintly, watching the people walking along the cobblestones. It wasn't nearly as busy as Cressa, but that could be because it was the morning. Then again, you could walk through the slums at dawn and guarantee that you'd have to walk around someone. It was strange, every street seemed empty in comparison. But Phoenix would have to remember that he wasn't in the slums anymore.

She glanced around to the door as he returned, smiling to him in greeting. "That didn't take very long." She murmured, surprised that there had been anyone awake to give him bandages. It was rather early, afterall, but she guessed that in an inn you had to have someone awake at all hours to see to the guests. "Alright, thank you Phoenix." She nodded as he told her to bandage her feet up, glancing to the bandages that he had found. She could really just bandage up all her feet, she suspected that the bandages were long enough for that, and it helped that she only had small feet. Yes, bandaging her feet up should be easy enough, bathing them would hurt a little, but it shouldn't hurt too badly; at least the blisters hadn't popped, yet.
She dipped her wash cloth into the clean water, rubbing her soap onto the cloth before washing her face, wringing the water from the cloth before using it to carefully clean her feet, wincing once or twice as she pressed a little too hard on the sore skin. Once she was finished the cleaned the cloth before hanging it over the edge of the basin to let it dry, moving over to sit on the bed to bandage her feet up. "You can take my shoes with you if you like. I'm sorry, but they are a little bit of a state. They are all dirty now..." She murmured, picking her shoes up from the floor to hold them out to him. The silken slippers were all dusty from walking yesterday, and had started to wear away at the heels and on the soles. In truth, she could have done with some walking shoes anyway, those slippers wouldn't last her much more than a few more days of walking really.
She glanced up at his comment, smiling lightly as her gaze moved out of the window and to the sea. "I would like to see the ocean close up, but we still have plenty of time for that." She nodded to him, tying off her bandages with a neat bow at her ankle. "It is beautiful though. I can't believe how much free space there is. When we were walking here the fields just seemed to go on and on forever." She smiled at that thought. That was real freedom, wasn't it? Just being able to go where ever she wanted without being held in by walls.

"It's alright," he smiled to her, turning from the window to leave the curtains open, moving over to take her shoes from her, "Not like you'll be wearing 'em much longer, right?" he shrugged, glancing back to the view of the sea through the window at her comment. "On one side the fields go on and on, and on the other in the ocean, and that's just as endless." he smirked faintly, glancing back to look at her, "But I miss the city eventually. Fields and water are alright for travelling, but there's no bigger adventure than a new city." he shrugged; Phoenix hadn't been to any city that even came close to rivalling Cressa, but then all in all he had only been out of it for a few miles at the most. Once they were out of the familiar towns that he knew of, he'd be exactly the same as she was... well... minus the fact that Phoenix was street-smart, and had a lot more experience on the road.
"I won't be long, then... Do me a favour and wrap up all of the food that's left over from breakfast when the 'keeper's daughter comes up? We'll be needing it." he nodded to her, giving her a lazy salute and a dashing sort of grin before exiting the room again, his light footsteps echoing on the stairs as the door shut slowly behind him.
It wasn't long before the innkeeper's daughter came up with breakfast, looking rather dismayed that Phoenix wasn't there but being polite and nonchalant nonetheless, smiling lightly at Rory as she set the one tray down and removed the other from the night before. She gave a little curtsey and bade her a good morning before edging back out of the room and down the stairs, the low hum of voices audible now as the other patrons awoke.
Phoenix returned after half an hour or so; this made them a little later than he would have liked, but he looked rather excitable as he knocked on the door and stepped back into the room, that rogueish glint in his eyes telling that a) he'd just managed to pull off a fantastic bit of thievery, b) he'd seen a girl he particularly liked or c) he had a cunning plan. Or some combination thereof. In his hands he held a pair of tan walking boots; sturdy, like his own to be able to deal with the hardships of travel, but still rather delicate in the idea that they were made for women's feet. He held them out to her with a bright smile.
"Here, try those on while I get everything ready. I've got good news - I just saw a couple guys talking about a cart that's headed out of Avangarde and the Cressan area inland, towards a place called the Angel's Peak. I'll explain the rest on the way; let's just say that if we sneak onto that cart then we'll get away from Cressa a lot faster." he told her, already looking around at what they had to pack.

"No, thank goodness. I wasn't looking forward to spending another day walking in those shoes. I never noticed how uncomfortable they were before." She smiled to him, at least seeming relieved that she would have more comfortable footwear for todays walk. Plus, with it being day time she would be able to see so much more! There was a whole new world out there just waiting for her to see, filled with wild forests, untamed meadows and sprawling oceans, and maybe the odd city or two. To be honest, the Princess was happy to be out of the confines of the city for a while, and thought that it would take a long while for her to miss the hustle and bustle of city life. The only thing she might miss would be the company, in a city there were always of people so it was harder to feel lonely, but seeing as she was travelling with Pheonix she doubted that she would get lonely. "I don't think that I will miss the city any time soon. There is far too much to see to even think about missing the city." She nodded to him, turning her gaze out of the window. "I think that I would want to go home eventually, but for now I just want to explore!" She had an excitable glimmer in her eyes at that comment, seeming to be looking forward to traveling now. If everywhere that they went was as nice as Avangarde then she couldn't wait to get there and take a look around. Her brothers said that things were different too when you started moving away from Cressa, that buildings were styled differently and certain cities had odd little customs or clothing styles, and it would be interesting to see these things for herself. "I will, would you like me to leave you something out to eat when you get back?" She asked, finishing with bandaging her feet, shuffling to sit at the edge of the bed and look up at him. "Alright, be careful Phoenix." She murmured to him, carefully rising to her feet to gather her things together and pack them back away inside her bag, leaving her hair loose around her shoulders today rather than pinning it up. Rory felt unexpectedly and unexplainably annoyed as the inn keepers daughter stepped into the room, glancing at her in time to spot that look of disappointment in her eyes. The girl was shameless! Rory didn't even know what she expected from Phoenix, and in truth she wasn't sure that she wanted to know. She returned the girls smile, though Rory's smile was a little more forced and it didn't reach her eyes. Humph, one good thing about leaving Avangarde would be that the inn keeper's daughter wouldn't be smiling at Phoenix so suggestivly anymore! She sat on the edge of the bed again to nibble at the breakfast, not particularly hungry yet. She wrapped up the rest of the food that she hadn't touched, neatly packing it away in Phoenix's bag so that he wouldn't have to do it when he got back. She had just finished putting everything away when he returned, smiling up at him in greeting. He seemed to be in a good mood, though she glimmer in his eyes made her slightly suspicious of him. He was planning something or had done something, and she wasn't quite sure what but she was sure that whatever it was it wasn't legal. "Thank you." She nodded to him as she took the boots, sitting on the edge of the bed as she slipped her feet into them. They fit great! Even with the bandages on they weren't too tight. Plus, they went with her dress rather well. "They fit well, and are quite comfortable." She informed him as she rose to her feet, walking across the room, as if to test out her new shoes. "Hmmm, riding in a cart would be good, my feet wouldn't hurt as much then..." She murmured absently, not seeming to have caught the part about /sneaking/ onto this cart.

"Well, we'll be in the back of the cart with all of the hay, but you're right, it won't hurt your feet at least." he chuckled to her with a light shrug, checking everything over and looking into his bag for a moment to make sure he hadn't forgotten anything before buckling it up and slinging it over his shoulder. "Alright, ready, I think." he looked around. They hadn't forgotten anything by the looks of it. And if they had, it probably wasn't anything important. Not as though they were carrying anything incredibly valuable with them was it? In Phoenix's case some things might be a little sentimental, but all of those things were in one of his pockets or something equal to that. He smiled brightly at her as she walked across the room, nodding a little. "I'm glad they don't hurt you much, I got rid of your other shoes if that's alright?" he tilted his head, "I don't think you'll be using 'em much with the travelling we're doing." he shrugged.
He gave the room one final sweep before turning to walk outside, pausing in the hallway so she could follow him. He didn't seem to notice that she hadn't realised they would be sneaking onto the cart, considering the way he spoke. "We've gotta hurry, okay Rory?" he told her with a light smile, "The cart leaves for Angel's Peak in just under ten minutes. We have to get there, and wait until it starts to roll away before climbing on. I've done it a few times before, it's easy, I promise. Then we can just sit there until the end of the journey, and it's an open topped cart so you can watch the countryside go by." he told her, having realised by now that she liked to see new sights, and there would be plenty of those as they travelled.
He continued on down the stairs as he was speaking, as if to stress that they only had a few minutes before the cart left. It had been a stroke of luck that he'd even heard about it in the first place, and it would be an understatement to say that this little acheivement had put the thief in a good mood. Upon reaching the bottom of the stairs he gave a light smile and nod to the innkeeper and a charming grin to his daughter. Phoenix was in one of those 'loveable rogue' moods. You just wanted to hate him if he did something stupid, but you couldn't.

"I'm ready as well. I packed everything while you were gone." She nodded to him as she picked up her own bag, moving to follow him out of the room. "I don't mind traveling with the hay as long as we don't have to walk all the way." She added, still not seeming to catch on to the fact that they would be sneaking onto the cart. It would be rather fun traveling like that, they would get away from Cressa much more quickly and she would still get to watch the countryside roll by without all that nastiness of walking. It was the perfect compromise! She seemed just as excitable as Phoenix did about his discovery, and just as conscious as he was about the short period of time that they had to get to the cart before it left.
"That is alright. I didn't need those other shoes anyway. They weren't practical." She told him as she put her bag over her shoulder, glancing down at her new shoes. "They were a state anyway. They needed to be thrown away." She nodded as she brushed her hair back out of her face. She looked thoughtful for a moment as he spoke about the cart, frowning just a little. "We have to get on while it is moving? That is strange..." She murmured before suddenly realising why. They were sneaking onto the cart! Oh dear! What if they were caught? The again, the cart would be going to Angels Peak anyway, then having a ride wouldn't make any real difference, would it? It wasn't as if they were stealing or putting anyone at a disadvantage, was it?
She had a far away look in her eyes as they passed through the inn, though that look did clear just long enough for her to send the inn keeper's daughter an icy glare as she reached out to hold on to Phoenix's wrist again. "How long will it take to get there? We won't be able to see Cressa when we are there, will we?"
